I would usually park around the home farm area heading down from the north - do you think that would work on Friday evening this week?
Parked there for the Derry game, bit of a walk but I'm thinking similar for the gig on the 17th. I've got all day to get down early

Ended up in Home Farm FC grounds - charged €10 but it was handy got out of and the clampers were out in the area so worked ok.

What time where you parked at?

We landed around 5 or 5.30. Couple of pints in the Skylon and then dandered down. Had plenty of time.

So now Gareth Brooks is a six county only phenomenon that didn't hit the urbanised West Brits on the East coast?
You're just ignoring the thousands that were traveling yesterday from Cork Kerry Galway Clare Mayo Sligo Tipp, Kilkenny etc.
The West Brits are mourning their Queen.
26 aren't even in the Commonwealth  ;)
That makes it worse and even weirder
McIlroy tribute very "Ulster", that come under West Brit banner?
Sure you know what McIlroy is like

Shane must be the same ;D
No
"She [Queen Elizabeth II] was an extraordinary woman."

Ok ;)
I know what he said

QuoteAnybody surface yet that can give me an insight into parking.

I emailed aiken promos to see if they would give me a park permit but they weren't having it.. lol

I was over there last night (not for the gig) Saint Joseph's school in fairview we're doing gig parking for a fiver or could've been a tenner for the day. You need to get there early as the traffic was heavy yesterday around 6pm.

Joseph's Secondary School,
Merville Avenue,
Fairview,
Dublin 3,
D03 H524
Ireland

Dublin City Council are really useless and missed a trick here, they should've opened Fairview park for parking for the weekend, they'd have made a few quid and the traffic wouldn't have been as bad.

We are toleratimg stetson waering mutants shitting in the streets and fighting with their shadows. You want us to lose access to parks too?
I laughed out loud....and then I thought of all your problems..

ONeill

Headed last night. It was bloody good. I didn't expect much, but coming away you knew you had been entertained by a polished performer. He reminded me of a WWE wrestler the way he gets on with the whooping and hell yeahs and fake tears. He knows how to whip the crowd up into thinking this is the best concert he has played in, and the crowd responds. Brooks can turn on the emotion like a tap. It was quite the show and well worth it for the sheer experience.

I parked on a side street near the Maples hotel. The concert finished at 10.15ish but wasn't home til near 1.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

All very low key, you'd have thought Garth mania would have engulfed the country by now.  Maybe he'll get a run-out on the Late Late Show on Friday to pull on Ireland's heartstrings ... maybe he'll be seen here and there up and down the country this week, impromptu sing song in a Dingle pub, that sort of thing, and sure we'll all say he's a grand fella.  I'm heading to the last of the shows on the 17th, looking forward to seeing what is being built to be a spectacular stage set-up etc. etc. ... but definitely not the same buzz as around 2014.  That was to be the official comeback, but the way it was handled by Brooks and his management left a sour taste for a lot of people.

Good call if I say so myself ...

Any parking insights. Looking somewhere handy to get away at the end.

Went on Saturday night ... Garth put on a superb show, and Croke Park looked unreal, what a setting for a big production event.  His Netflix documentary of the 5 Dublin shows should be a good watch, and won't do tourism in the country any harm either.

Is it confirmed to be on Netflix?  I would have thought Amazon Prime considering the deal he struck with them to host his music.

Does anyone know did he so the 'secret encore' at the end of final the Saturday night gig?
Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience

I really enjoyed it.

Thought the staging was really basic considering the ticket pricing!

What was the average price for a ticket? Multiplied by the estimated 400000 attendees it's no wonder he loves Ire-land!
