We want Trent!, etc.

Plus, when you look at some of the players who stepped up, there is no guarantee of Watkins, Palmer and more producing year on year.

They still have no left back coming through either.

On a side note it is criminal they didn't start Trent. Their right flank left exposed by Big Daddy for both goals in the final and Spain capitalised.

Sportacus

I'd say Newcastle would be happy enough to let Eddie Howe go, and he'd tick the boxes for the FA.

Would cost the FA 7 million and they would have to match his wages, not sure you'd leave for less?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Turf

Graham Potter I would imagine will be a contender.

they do have good players and a proper manager could get them over the line so let's hope it's a Southgate Mark 2 appointment.

This one baffles me. When I think of the nations who expect to be challenging I think of a different managerial skillset to club management. The example I always think of is Joachim Löw. A mediocre club managerial CV, then 15 years with the German team winning a single world cup. After that, nothing.

England don't need Klopp and Klopp doesn't need England.

I hope they do go all out for a 'name' as its sure to end in tears, until they find or develop a player to stand in the middle of the pitch and dictate the game they'll hit that glass ceiling again and again.

You'd be as well going for some sort of unknown Icelandic part time dentist for the craic

Mourne Red

Klopp and Poch the two names I'm seeing most that the England fans want

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Captain Obvious

England need a manager who'll set up a team to play attractive and on the front foot attacking play to get bums off seats. A manager to let the players express themselves on the field. They need Stephen Kenny

In fairness the bauld Trent is well able to defend badly at the back stick too!

It's just where you play 3 at the back and still don't bring him in as a passer. But sure if Kane isn't fit to move then you miss the point of him anyway.

Like I said Rio and the like throw out names all day, but must want 13 lads on the field because he won't drop anyone either!
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Quote from: weareros on July 15, 2024, 05:42:37 PMThere was comments on X that if England had won, Jack Grealish would be this generation's Jimmy Greaves. I don't think Grealish has tweeted since the English squad was announced in early June. He opted for Wimbledon yesterday. I wonder if he will ever play for England again. His stock might have risen again after the way they played.

I wouldn't worry about Jack. It's a while since he worried about us.

Right you be. Mainly a bit of the old schadenfreude on my part.

Somehow picked in the official team of the tournament too. He was pretty poor throughout.

Nail on head.

You'll be extremely fortunate to win anything without being unable to keep the ball.

Too many show ponies that go for the killer pass with every pass rather than keeping the ball.

Been the same problem for decades.
