Milltown Row2

Going to London again this Summer for few days, done most things over the years there, anything off beat or not the usual sites and attractions that would be recommended?

Anyone anxious and worrying about Aer Lingus action next week?

Waiting to hear today if our flight is being cancelled, and even if it isn't, I'll spend all next week worrying about it.

Why is a work to rule strike causing them so many problems?? Probably doesn't speak volumes for them I imagine..

Have you been over East? Broadway market a nice spot on a Saturday? Likewise Brick Lane market on a Sunday. Victoria Park nice with few pubs etc along the canal.

It's between 26th June & 2nd July though, so you should be fine?
It's shit timing, I'd say there are plenty of people taking the kids out of the last week of school to get a reasonable priced holiday and now they're landed with this!

I had just read that. The first report was early July so I wasn't sure how it work out.

Bad timing for people alright - I suppose that's why they're doing it now so they can put pressure on the company

I'm flying next Sat, 29 June. Two small kids in tow.
I think this is just the first raft, if not sorted then flights afterwards will be affected too.
I have plans B, C and D in my head (all of which involve flying through the UK) - all will involve significant cash outlay but should be covered by the compensation if the flight is cancelled. And we would need to be cancelled in advance, not at the airport. Trying not to stress too much.

Recently flew outta Leeds Bradford and they had them new scanners that mean you dont have to take all your liquids out and have them in a separate bag etc. Worked well. Great job.

In contrast Belfast got me to open my bag to show them a non liquid stick deodorant. I'm sure we'll catch up  ::)

124 flights have been cancelled during the first five days of industrial action by pilots impacting 20,000 customers.
The airline said the level of cancellations is currently at the lower end of the 10% - 20% range that it had predicted.

But shortly after that announcement, IALPA members at Aer Lingus confirmed they will engage in an eight-hour strike on Saturday 29 June from 5am - 1pm.

Our flight wasn't cancelled, but supposed to leave at 1.15pm.

Hopefully it all goes ok for you. Kids in the airport are hard enough work without any worrying about whether the flights going or not.

And the flight got cancelled.  Automatically rebooked onto the same flight the day before, and I've the compensation request already submitted.  I'll now spend the next six days worrying if it will get cancelled too.  I wonder if we'd get double compensation if it does...

Anyone know if there will be any hassle if I arrive at the car park in Belfast Int'l before the time on my pre-booked ticket?

easyjet have brought the flight forward so I need to be at the airport an hour earlier. I tried to amend the booking online but the bastards say you have to rebook and the original is cancelled -the original booking was 77 quid and it would be 118 quid for the new booking. I'm not paying 40 quid to arrive an hour earlier  >:(
