They helped Kildare too. But they also got us back on track in the longer term which costs less.

See the issue is that if the GAA didn't get involved and stood off, allowing vultures in, the same man would be SCATHING of the GAA.

Not sure if it's too late...

To be honest until the Provinces are all competitive people will stay away till the latter stages of the championship.

They flip a bit but Marc O Se, Paddy Andrews, Aaron Kiernan seem to be around.

For Kildare they had John Heslin too. McElwain is good too.

Lads feel like my ma here, but how do I update thread topic?

Is it a desktop job?

With Kilkenny and Con they still gave lads who can lead, but their aura is not as strong and sadly Leinster teams lay down for them for too long.

I don't see Meath winning but I don't see a beating either.

Louth to beat Kikdare by 5+, although I am hopeful. They are too along the line as a group.

If you fancy your county to go well at all the 2 for 3 is good.
But as much as we moan 79 is very good for the year.

As I said the production is good and the pundits are more up to date. The Comms are good too.

I'm heading to more games this year so didn't get it mind.

The lads on the Football Pod were rightly praising all the weapons and styles of play Galway can use. As they said too, of course Joyce will say they can't rely on two men (ie Walsh & Comer) but down the line no team can do without lads like that.

But, in the meantime if they can win and other lads are stepping up that's a huge boost. Castlebar is a factor but Mayo are just not at Galway's level yet.

IF they do get the two lads fit and firing they will take some stopping.

Looking forward to the weekend and great to be out of Croke Park.
Kildare v Westmeath was a little cracker in fairness, even if the quality was up and down. With a young Kildare team we'd hope that this would be a big boost and some of our key players like Feely and McCormack really stood up in the latter stages.

Our kickouts were ABYSMAL. I know it's not all on the keeper but he kicked 2 frees from his hands as high and hard as he could - it was Go Games stuff!
We are still very open at the back and our forwards do not demand the ball or pull lads out of position, which is a concern.

Only listened to Meath match on Midlands, but Offaly are a very good outfit and Meath did well in the end. I just hope they bring some noise and intensity to it.

Louth v Dublin the likely outcome mind.

I think the 3 up and tap and go are great.

Some of the more finicky rules frustrate people eg the 4m after the mark.

I know all the giving out about the 50m bit it has sped the game up.
Maybe 20m is a fairer punishment though.

I thought the 2 pointer would pull teams out to the edges of the D and allow more goal chances but not really happening.

It could go and the arc in general for kickouts is up for debate. If you can't pass it back to the keeper forwards can press and force it long anyways.

It's a huge story today.
RTE1 is running a repeat of the Drew Barrymore show.
The News Channel is putting up images from the Radio with Derek Mooney whose Nature Show just seems to be given over to the story.

The lads don't seem to know the cameras are rolling.
People are walking around during ad breaks.

Say what you want but for Kildare v Westmeath there was many comments around me about their gantry, number of cameras, etc there. The production is less stuffy too.

Like then have a look at this...

The famous 'John 3:16′ and later 'John 3:7′ placards, carried by supporter Frank Hogan, became part of the iconography of GAA summers from the 1980s on.

In that spirit, let us commandeer another – 'John 8:7′ – this week. That's the biblical verse dealing with the whole 'Let he without sin cast the first stone' situation.

The Schemozzle certainly isn't that – without sin - but we'll cast it anyway in the direction of RTÉ pundit Paul Flynn, who predicted a close contest between Cavan and Tyrone. That call was off the mark, perhaps because his info let him down.

In Flynn's preview, he reckoned Cavan had been "very impressive at the back" and "they have new, young players in Niall Carolan and Sean McEvoy, who has been excellent in midfield".

In reality, Cavan conceded 159 points, an average of 22.7 points per game, in the National League, which meant that, defensively, they ranked 28th out of the 32 teams in the country.

'New' corner-back Carolan, who is the fourth generation of his family to play represent Cavan, is now in his fourth season as a starter. Former Republic of Ireland U17 international McEvoy, meanwhile, did light things up during the league but as a corner-forward.

Like why spend money on rights and OB units and throw him and the likes of Cora to front it?!

Real went thundering around and thought they would get away with everything and Arsenal would panic.

They got away with plenty mind, but they seemed to be shocked that Arsenal didn't lose their composure.

They really missed the old midfield trio to control things and actually use their brains.

Serious semi finals coming up.

Thank God for the Leinster Championship  8)

Kildare came good in the end but didn't see it coming after the 1st half.

Antrim were on fire in the league v Kildare. They had a few lads able to stroke them.

That is Kildare's strongest team of the year IF they are all fit and ready. Kevin Flynn and Kirwan have barely featured. Ben McCormack has been in and out.

Going in hope tomorrow as we are so open at the back and slow to pull the trigger up top it's not looking good. Grand evening for it mind...
