I've no idea about GAA rules anymore so maybe thats incorrect but there was 100% a late hit after the ball had been kicked from the right sideline.

But in terms of the actual foul that was given, the most clean, textbook tackle you'll see all day.

Was more than a few yards back and not a storable position against that wind, Vale get the men back and come out with the ball or it drops short and back of the net...We'll never know now. Hopefully another entertaining match next Saturday

Fair point, I thought it had only bounced once but seen the video there with the two bounces before he got it.

Not sure why that lad is giving out.

Good win for the 'Bridge but Glen would have been very strong favourites for this game.

I thought the free in for ballinderry was harsh enough on faughanvale but at the same time you can't put your hand on a players back when you're tackling. So by the letter of the law is was probably the correct call.

On the senior match the one point victory really flattered Maghera as Newbridge were far superior in nearly every department. Can only assume chicken was playing advantage in the last play as the bridge lad was clearly fouled in the lead up to the match winning score.

Derry now the only county not to have formally appointed a manager. Lol

Derry championship is getting competitive again, Glen will come back fighting next year you'd assume their key players are still young enough, Slaughtneil still young, Magherafelt. Along with Dungiven and Lavey looking to be on a bit of a resurgence. Wish Newbridge well in Ulster, keep up Derrys good club record!

Really enjoyed both matches, the hunger and work rate from both underdogs, Vale and Newbridge was incredible. Conditions weren't great, but that was some days entertainment.

Would many have tipped Newbridge at start of the year?

I know they were in a semi final last year. Have they had much youth success, seems a fairly youthful senior team? Have Newbridge big numbers at youth level?

"seems a fairly youthful senior team" ... I think that's the key right there. They do have a lot of lads around 20 and under, and experience tells you that it's difficult to get a lot of consistency out of players that age. They definitely did yesterday! I think many people would have fancied them to get back to a semi-final but few would have picked them to win it all.

If they can keep going, they'll be a force to be reckoned with over the next number of years. Getting Padraig Mc Groggan back next year will help.

Derry Man

Seen boys on twitter saying the referee from Roscommon didn't want a north Derry team to win 🤣.

Brendan

More likely took fear to give a key decision against the Big senior club in those circumstances

Definitely not big numbers at underage , would be lucky to have underage panels with more than 2/3 subs (at most at )every level

That fella has lost the plot, just read through his tweets.

Very happy to see Newbridge win against Glen. However, some of their players could do with holding themselves to a higher standard online.

Enjoy the special occasion.

I'd say he's like a pressure cooker letting off some steam is all.

The work rate of that Newbridge team was something else, serious pace in the h/f line.

Will be interesting to see how they fair in Ulster.

Now into week 17 of having no manager.

The last team in Ireland to appoint.
