Ming was going to work hard for tourism in Roscommon but then he got a better job in Strasbourg

This must be your biggest piece of nonsense yet. I thought you like the leftists? Or does the fact he's from Toscpmmon supersede even your red politics?
The 2011 election manifesto, Syf. 100% plámás.
Roscommon could do way better on the tourism front imo

Have you been to fûcking Roscommon in your life to say that? Seaboard counties will always take the lion's share of tourism.
I have been to Ros a few times.

Off the top of my head Ros has Carolan and Douglas Hyde, Rathcroghan and the Shannon. It is laid back , has friendly people and if properly marketed could be a paradise for city dwellers on the continent. It could have a real quality product with a bit of imagination.

Are they going to stay in the non-existent hotels or the closed down ones, Sea? I'm sure the refugee center in Ballagh could spare a few rooms if asked.

In fairness you are correct but county has a history of useless politicians across all parties. Rathcroghan is very poorly marketed and has a wonderful interpretative center in Tulsk. Very few realise our greatest epic The Táin began there and some hoor broke the old sign. The Arigna Mines experience is amazing and then only a stones throw to O'Carolan country where he composed all his best stuff. Some lovely lakes, and nice little towns full of castles and ancient abbeys. It's not the Wild Atlantic Way and Hidden Heartlands, which I think covers some of Ros, is a terrible name and sounds American.

Roscommon has three main roads running through it to other coastal counties...
Tourists just don't stop there
Sure even the motorway goes through the county without one stop between Athlone and Ballinasloe

 » In 2014, almost 7 million overnight trips  were made to Ireland and close to 2 million overnight trips to Northern Ireland by inbound tourists. Related expenditure was a total of €3,505m (£2,828m) in Ireland and £446m (€553m) in Northern Ireland.

 Average expenditure per trip was lower in Northern Ireland than in Ireland. This was due to a shorter average length of trip taken in Northern Ireland of 5 nights compared to 8 nights in Ireland. However, overall expenditure per night was similar in both parts of the island «

If i gave my kids a choice to go on a day trip tomorrow (or overnight if needed depending on distance) to any place in the country (and they have experienced a lot of the interesting things and experiences the country has to offer) .... it would be Lough Key forest park in Boyle for Zippit and Boda Burg
