I went to Paléo in Nyon, Switzerland once (1999).  It's not far from Geneva.  Typical well-behaved Swiss crowd.  I'll be honest, I only went because Bryan Adams was playing and I was in Switzerland for the summer.  But the lineups have been ok since.

Do people think that perhaps in order to get the dole people should be made to participate in public works projects?  There's no point in pretending that those on the dole are available and actively seeking work (cos there isn't any and won't be for a long time), so what do you all think?

Does anyone in the North remember Enterprise Ulster - I think it did something like that.  I remember seeing bus shelters being made by those on that programme?  It doesn't exist any more but it sounds like what you're suggesting.

General discussion / Re: Advice on Car Write Off?!

Jeez Treasurer, mine was written off last week in fact.

I basically told the guy I wanted it written off as it would have taken a while to fix it.  In the market at the minute, I was much better off coming into it with the cash.  Got about what I expected at bottom book value - you can check what that is on websites.  No trade-in, bigger discount.

Arranged a purchase yesterday by calling on a contact made through Club Tyrone  ;D and got myself what I consider a good car - plus £4k cheaper than they'd advertised.  Plus had a good old chat about football while test driving.

If you're in the market for a new one, come across the border.

Don't think he'll be appealing it, or at least won't be advised to appeal it - from a conversation I had last week with some learned legal counsel.

Nope, it's Treasurer, I wouldn't put a soccer top on me if I was paid.

Stephen's injury is to the same knee that he's had trouble with.  It's a chronic condition so it'll never be right, I guess the question is whether it's worth the risk for this match.  If we don't get some points we'll be into a relegation battle so it may be.

Jimmy, are you going next weekend?  If you are, there'll be 20 of us out there.

I've been skiing six times now and only went to ski school once, on my first trip.  I'd advise a private lesson for a few hrs if even to show you the slopes in the resort.

I hate that long journey - bringing the laptop with a few movies to keep me going.  Last time I went we got some beers in Geneva Airport and brought them onto the bus but there's only one stop between there and Livigno so it may be a risky option!

In the Indo today, news that KPMG are effectively letting go over 100 chartered accountants. People coming out of their training contracts are not being offered permanent contracts.

Yep, trainees were told on Monday apparently.  Offered temporary 4 contracts to June is what my source told me.

It's been mentioned to me already that we've been OK so far but if some transactions don't occur in the next few months, it might hit me too.

The final Zavvi store in NI closed today.  The second or third retail unit in Belfast's Victoria Square that has hit the wall.

Calm down. It's Tyrone v Kerry. All discussion should go on in here. Othwersie create a thread for attendance, facilites, weather at the match, stewards, parking........

What are ye on about son?

People saying start a thread for the Ricey talk, this thread should incorporate all discussion from the match.

No, it has turned into a discussion on what defines a criminal act and a Tyrone-bashing litany against anyone who hasn't called for the immediate beheading of Ryan McMenamin.  I'm just bored with it and would prefer to read opinions on the other 74.5 minutes of the football match.

Could those of you who really want to continue this discussion please start a new thread so that people like me who want to read views on the actual football don't have to wade through pages of this?

Obviously from a Tyrone point of view the second half was much better, but Kerry gave some display for a match in February.  Great to see so many up from Kerry as well.

Colm McCullagh squaring up to Tommy Walsh provided some humour in the first half - such a difference in size, the lad's a tank!

What would we do without McGinley?  He gives it 100% every time, every ball.

Thought he and Philip Jordan were outstanding like most Tyronies on here.

Young Cassidy was doing well in the second half up in the forward line - seemed to pull up injured?

I was out training in Cherryvale this morning and Enda McGinley arrived to do a bit of personal training on the pitch beside us.  Dedication indeed, half nine the day before a match.

Right Billy, it's Friday night and I've had to put my bottle of Pouilly Fume in a hip flask and smuggle in.  Could you turn a blind eye and give me a wine glass with that whiskey please.

Tony not sure why you would say that.  A tad judgemental.  The Merchant is a lovely place, Cloth Ear not the best bar in the world but the cocktails in the residents' bar are nice - real top class service and definately not something you'd get everywhere.  Muck-savage free.

Prob agree about the gym but not all the leisure facilities - with a bad head on me there's nothing I like more than a swim.  If it's a weekend break, there might just be time to check out the jacuzzi and sauna in there, not out of the realms of possibility on a rosemantic break.
