Wonder will we see another episode of 1 or 2 forwards either O'Neill & An Other against 4 defenders.

Its kinda frustrating to watch when the ball is kicked into the forwards & time and time again it's intercepted by a sweeper/spare defender.
If this is the case will we be depending on trying to run it into scoring positions and shoot from further out

I wouldn't be too worried about that - some of our best scores last year came from working it up the field quickly out of defence, and we didn't rely too heavily on pumping it into full forwards.
Tyrone's strength lies in the confidence of any one of the 14 outfield players to take their points - we did it without Stephen last year, I don't imagine Mickey will base his whole game plan around him.  If Stephen and Mugsy/Sean tie up four defenders, great, I've no concern about our ability to have the free men fire over scores from deeper surging runs.

General discussion / Re: Tax Question

Right Ifdown, there's a few cloudy details in there.
1. Your last employer overpaid you?  Do you think you were overpaid?  Issue is that you have no P45, but do you have regular income from this former employer?
2. You are driving a company car which is taxable.  Is this from your new employer?
3. What do you mean by "one of the earnings"?  Back to the question whether you have two regular income streams.

Is there any element of income that you haven't paid tax on?  Company car maybe?  In that instance, you owe them money, so they'd change the code to claw back the tax.

(am assuming you're in UK as you mention P45 and P60s)

Maco I wasn't - live in Belfast, so a reserve league game unf isn't a big enough draw for me to head down.

On a side note the Armagh keeper was exactly quick of the line

Exactly what I was thinking, she'll be disappointed with that one.

I discovered last night you can view BBC iPlayer via the iPhone, which is kinda cool.

Ah Ziggy...

The Clann na Gael boys were both on top form at training tonight.  Both seemed to come through last weekend ok.

Is it time to talk about ski holidays yet??

Booked four nights in Puerto Banus, Aer Lingus to Malaga, at the start of September.

After the obligatory twelfth weekend in Rossnowlagh.

Note to Croke Park: Give season ticket holders crap seats in the league so they don't expect too much come championship  ;D

As I said, I couldn't care if you're all given seats in beside Mickey Harte, it's this notion of being a more qualified fan because of the season ticket.  If you wanted better (not the best) seats, then someone else would have had to relinquish theirs and sit in what you call the worst seats in the house.  My initial query was who would you feel would be best displaced?  I wonder who sat in those seats last time out, who sits in them every other time, and whether they make such a song and dance.

By the way, my cousin tried to get two season tickets as a Christmas present.  There were none left at the time.

Tyrone season tickets were good value this year because the majority of games were either at home or in Ulster (two further afield).  Check where the league games are next year before buying.

Goldengreen, thanks, all those reasons are very valid, and even commendable.

And now I am gracefully bowing out as no doubt Doohicky will quote this entire post and it will make it much too long to scroll through at home on the iphone  :P

Before I go, Tony I actually applaud you for sending off the email, as I am a big believer in the phrase "what did they say when you told them", ie actions instead of words.

You also happily ignore our questioning on why we can't have an option to move to the standing section as I would happily do.

Ignore your questioning, why, are you asking me?  I couldn't give a bejaysus where you sit, stand or kneel but I take issue with the whinging that you're the best fans around and deserve the top seats, how those without a season ticket are "fairweather fans".

The Season tickets sold out, but in no way was it an overnight sell out. Anyone who wanted one could have got one no problem.

Untrue

Like, how come, as Season Ticket holders during the League campaign there was no problem in getting adequate seating, but suddenly in BIGGER stadiums we are relegated to the worst seats in the house. If, as you say, it is not because of fairweather fans, then what is the reason?

Stop making up quotes for me please.  Maybe you got a bad seat because you missed at least one of the league games.  Shame on you, and you call yourself a true fan.

It's the holier than thou attitude that bugs me.  I am not continually missing your point/whinge about expecting a reward for going to league games.  I do think you should be given everything that you have been promised.  Demand is always higher for the championship and if you were naive enough to think you were going to rank top of the pile when there's more people looking for seats, then more fool you.

There are many flaws with the system, some good aspects as well, and I genuinely hope that come the All Ireland Final, season ticket holders will see the benefits.

I am actually very genuinely interested Goldengreen why you would bother buying a season ticket?  Would you not be likely to get a ticket from your club anyway?  What was your motive for buying?

since the fairweather fans have turned up?

You see rrhf this is the kind of comment that has driven my posts.

I agree wholeheartedly that you have paid for seats in advance and are entitled to them, not in any way disputing "ticketworthiness" despite certain season ticket holders disputing that of "well-to-do" women and children.  But some of the posters on here are commenting as though they are on some sort of level above a regular supporter who is not in possession of one of the limited number of season tickets that sold out in Armagh and Tyrone.

Weren't season ticket holders given the option of purchasing tickets beside theirs for another person?  Presumably for those who took up the option, the other person wasn't a season ticket holder themselves?  Just some fly by night who only turns up for Tyrone/Armagh games no doubt.

Lets be honest about this, the only advantage to the holder of season tickets is, as Maguire01 said, for the All Ireland final.  Other than that, the advantage is to the GAA, and even for the AIF, you still have to pay the money, so the GAA isn't out of pocket.  I put it that season ticket holders would have known and accepted this situation that HQ are the winners.  Great commercial system on their part.

the people who now have these good seats obviously weren't at the league games.
Why obviously?  Because they don't have one of the 250 season tickets per county?  Heck of a presumption.

Oh dear god seriously, "well to do" women??  Gosh wonder if one of them was my mum?  She definately doesn't wash kits these days.  But she sits in on her own a few nights a week (counting her millions) when my dad is at a club meeting or a grants meeting or a referees meeting.  She wore her fur coat to the McKenna Cup in January but was in the chalet in St Moritz for a few of the league games so she's not really a genuine supporter.

Who deserves the worst seats then, if season ticket holders don't?  The sponsors and their guests?  Right enough, they do nothing for the county.  The County Board?  True, sure they just sit in the county board offices doing very little.  County committees - ah sure they're as bad as county board officials.

If you had no qualms taking the great seats and car park pass in the past, why would you berate others for doing so now?  Is it just because your friend won't get you the tickets or is it because you genuinely disagree with the practice?  I would find it hard to believe it's the latter.

I keep laughing to myself at this thread - some of you season ticket holders seem to think you're the country's greatest fans!

Other people involved in a daily or weekly basis with the GAA may not have season tickets as they couldn't afford the initial outlay/weren't enough season tickets available - what makes them any less deserving of a good seat (as I presume you would rather have been in seats occupied by someone else, ie referees, youth coordinators, players' families, voluntary county board and club administrators etc).  Who in your opinion ranks below you in seating allocation terms?

Season ticket snobbery!

Did anyone else hear the head of the Irish pilot association or whatever it's called on Radio Ulster this morning?

He found it difficult to believe that it was lightening or turbulence.

It's in Irish news today that they have been suspended so it must be confirmed.

Slightly incorrect there, as Ziggy says the Irish News says that they are "in line" for suspensions and can either accept or appeal to CCCC.
