Quote from: J70 on March 16, 2025, 06:50:12 PMNo complaints about that game. Newcastle played Liverpool off the park. Nice to see them finally win a trophy, although Joelinton was acting the p***k at the end there.

Liverpool look done out. No energy whatsoever. Slot needs to give some of them starters a break. They only need, at most, five wins and a draw from nine. Time to start seriously rotating.
Everton H
Fulham A
West Ham H
Leicester A
Spurs H
Chelsea A
Arsenal H
Brighton A
Palace H

Still some tough games there.
You'd hope they will have enough to get through but I'm not taking anything for granted.

Quote from: RedHand88 on March 16, 2025, 05:44:42 PMNewcastle fully deserved winners.
100% and who could begrudge them.
70 years is a long time.
A shame it had to happen against Liverpool but them the breaks.
Hate losing finals but if we would have won it would have been just the Carabao Cup for Liverpool, for Newcastle it's the stuff of dreams.

Quote from: Tony Baloney on March 16, 2025, 05:45:45 PMThis run of form not ideal coming up to the league run-in.
That's the worry now. At least there is a good break until the next game.

Quote from: LarryStiles on March 16, 2025, 06:24:57 PMNewcastle sitting the bed. Too many English lads on the team.

Will you ever go and f**k off.

Quote from: trileacman on March 12, 2025, 10:48:18 PMChrist I despise Real Madrid.
Same as.
Was hoping Atlético would win, always liked them.
I like Simeone.

I see Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth being mentioned as a possible replacement for Andy Robertson.

Will definitely be big changes this summer both incoming and outgoing.

Slot would probably admit winning the title (hopefully) in his first season wouldn't have been something he would have been thinking of when he joined.

Looking forward to seeing him getting some of his own players in.

Quote from: Armamike on March 13, 2025, 10:41:43 AMIn the age of social media, podcasts and phone-ins it's funny to see some of the meltdown and over-reactions to Liverpool going out of the champions league.  I don't imagine most Liverpool supporters are that bothered really. The joy of winning the league will put that to bed. Man U and Man City who dominated the Pl for years routinely year in year out got knocked out of Europe and there wasn't much said about it.
Slot and Liverpool were going to struggle in his first season they said.
Now it's a failure because they won't win the quadruple 🤷🏻

Quote from: tonto1888 on March 12, 2025, 03:49:18 PMam I right in thinking that after sunday Liverpool dont have another game until April? I chance to rest and recharge the batteries for the league run in
Yeah April 2nd v Everton.
Nothing won yet so rest will be good though I'm sure there will be plenty flying around the world for international games.

You've told us half a dozen times your kid is working there.
No one cares.

Quote from: JoG2 on March 12, 2025, 01:50:09 PMOr 7 goals and 6 assists from 12 starts this season. And that doesn't factor in the space created for the likes of Salah and Diaz to work their magic. Definitely working as they're doing OK this year
Creating chaos and making space for the better players.
That really is the last resort for a bad player.

Football maybe not for you lad...
If Dag Dog had brains he'd be dangerous.

Quote from: Armamike on March 12, 2025, 10:27:03 AMDisappointing to go out but it's the league or nothing for Liverpool this season.
Agreed. Still work to do there so a clear path left now with only the Carling Cup Final in the way.
Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Quote from: johnnycool on March 11, 2025, 10:59:02 PMNothing between those two teams, if anything Liverpool the stronger bench but I think we all had doubts when Nunez strode up to take his pen, he didn't look confident at all..

Jones didn't catch his clean either and did look to that side of the goal quite a bit when waiting to take his.

Slot would have taken a PL title at the start of the season and it's in the bag .
Before the season started they were saying Slot would be lucky to get top 4 and would need a full season to adapt to the Premier League.
It looks now like he will win the Premier League in his first season.
Imagine what he could do when he gets his own players in.
Im not sure even if Liverpool won last night that they would have won the Champions League this season.
Definitely are starting to look tired now. Just as well they are so far ahead in the League.

Shite way to go out but it is what it is.
Clear run at winning the Premier League now once Sunday is out of the way.
Thought we were excellent tonight but Paris probably deserved it over the two legs.
Injuries now a worry.

Quote from: lurganblue on March 10, 2025, 09:21:09 AMDidn't see that tackle, but I've absolutely no problem with players giving it a wee celebration after a big defensive play at a key moment in the game. They aren't robots. Nothing wrong with a display of passion. Disasi did something like that for Villa at the weekend with a big block. Nice to see it means something for him.
Can't wait to see the Postmans celebration this morning when he puts my post in the letterbox  ;)

Quote from: quit yo jibbajabba on March 10, 2025, 08:30:01 AMCelebrating his tackle at the end, excellent tho it was, was even more cringe

Coming more and more into the game. Like rugby in this respect
Aye that was hilarious, I mean yeah it was a superb tackle but it wasn't one that won the title or anything, it basically meant they were 15 behind Liverpool instead of 16!
Arteta walking off sulking after the Sky Sports fella asked him a simple enough question about the title race was also hilarious.

So 3 games into Arsenal's favorable fixtures they have 2 points from 9...
