Rattled out 1923 season 2 there. Enjoyable. Not as good as 1883 IMO.

The characters don't half make some stupid decisions.

Finished The Residence on Netflix. It's one of those shondaland shows. Quirky. I thought it funny in parts. Worth a watch.

Massive result for villa. I think that was a must win.

City up next. I'd take a draw

I thought Watkins should have started myself, and thought Emery had gotten that wrong at half time. He didn't.

There were many standout performances. McGinn covered every blade and was a real driving force in the 2nd half. Rashford worked so hard and became a real threat in the 2nd half. I can understand that they had probably ran their race, but when they came off, it all went a bit flat.

What is the utd fans thinking of Rashford now? Did the club let him down, too much of a bashing from media and fans, or was it mostly on him? He looks a different player than a few months ago. That said, I don't think he will be at Villa next season.

Ah they gave that a right good rattle. Villa had the chances to go level in the tie but couldn't take them. I thought they were dead and buried after 15 mins. Momentum is a wonderful thing in sports.

Hopefully they don't have to wait 40 years to be back there again.

Quote from: thewobbler on April 14, 2025, 10:52:09 PMRory if he's up to 4 shots either side of the lead on a Sunday, it's always entertaining.

Aberg has potential to become something similar.

Hovland has some of this. As does Bryson. Speith had it but can't find enough of the good stuff anymore.

I wouldn't consider myself a passionate fan of any of them but I'll tune in if it's happening and I'll root for any/all when it's on.

Most golfers though bore the shit out of me. To be honest I think I'm just looking at the course most of the time.

I like the Full swing series on Netflix, probably constructed to be more player friendly but it's got some decent content on the players and their families outside of the sport.

Yeah it's excellent. It shows a side to the sport that I certainly had no comprehension of anyway.

I like how it isn't always showing the big names too. Plenty of lads who are missing the cut right and regular. A lot of pressure there too.

Good win for Paddy the Baddy at the weekend.  He is a character.

As a casual observer, I'm unsure why he hasnt gotten bigger fights.  Is that door now open for him?

Seems like groundhog day here, but such an overhaul of that squad is needed.  The same old problem persists though.  Who is gonna want to pay money for, or even match the wages, of these "stars".

The club seems to be all out of good ideas, from the top down.

PSR beginning to nip in here too.

Quote from: johnnycool on April 14, 2025, 09:00:24 AMThat's the Ards and North Down Borough Council Sports person of the year wrapped up for now.

Down hurlers won't have a look in.  ;)

Well done Rory all the same, that's some achievement for any player in any sport.

I work with a lad who's a member of Holywood Golf club and has spoken to Rory a few times, do I get some recognition and reflective glory now as well?

That's it, Lurgan is claiming ownership

Agree that the sky coverage was brutal.  That needs a serious revamp.

What an evening of golf entertainment. From from the first hole, were i'm sure we all thought, oh here we go again, to the playoff. Amazing stuff.

The pressure must have been immense. I can only imagine.

Quote from: Mick Bustin on April 10, 2025, 09:36:46 AMWe had a referee in a club game over the weekend who thought the home team was the away team and the away team was the home team. Told everyone the away team was winning at half time when they were actually losing by a point.

Clans v Harps in the Juniors? Heard about this shambles

Villa couldnt live with psg for long periods, but with minutes left 2-1 looked a good result to take back to Birmingham. The 3rd kills it.

They're a decent side

Enjoyable GAA Podcast this week with Houlie. A proper Armagh Legend. Houlie was the star player for me as a young lad.

Quote from: quit yo jibbajabba on April 09, 2025, 09:43:25 AMPSG hugely impressive against pool, time will tell if that was their peak

Villa have an impressive enough midfield, with the lad Kamara if he's fit, may be needed to stem the PSG flow.

If Mings lines out they're fecked though. Slow in thought and pace.

I'd expect a few goals tonight, this could be tighter than people expect.
Torres and Konsa be the centre backs, agree Mings a bit of a liability.  PSG should fancy winning this now.

It will be Torres and Konsa for sure. However , in Emery's time as manager , he has a better record with Mings in the team than not in it. Some players bring attributes beyond the obvious.

To compare the slow in thought and pace comment, between Torres and Mings. Mings would be quicker over the ground than Torres IMO. Torres much quicker in thought.

I have no doubt that Villa will hope to be compact but dangerous with pace on the break. Kamara and McGinn will be putting in the work in the middle. It's a tough ask, but sure, who knows.
