I dunno, but I won't be there.  Haven't ventured into the midlands since it was bypassed.

Your loss. Ireland's hidden gem.

Meath could win. It's a funny d2.
But the nihilism of the fans might get to the players.

Mick O'Dowd was reading Nietzsche to lads at half time against Armagh.

Think it was The Art of War last weekend.

Mick O'Dowd. Dowd. You don't hear that name too often but most people will remember where they heard it first. The former nose breaker and current oil tycoon Tommy Dowd.

Even money in the betting. Would take a draw.
The way scoring is going this year it's more likely there will be a 5+ points winning margin for Laois Meath.

I've been to paradise but I've never been to Meath.

Meath (FL v Laois) -

P O'Rourke;

D Keogan, K Reilly, M Burke;
S Curran, E Harrington, D Carroll;

B Menton, S O'Rourke;

D Tobin, D McDonagh, A Tormey;
B McMahon, S Bray, M Newman.

Same again for Meath.

Eamon Wallace out for the rest of the year with ACL. I wonder how many games he's played the last 3 weeks?

Bad news for Eamonn, really feel for him. Hope that the ridiculous nature of GAA fixture making doesnt make him turn his back on the game.

I am none too happy with the scheduling and Mick O'Dowd has been giving out in this weeks chronicle about the amount of games the players have on......and this was before Eamonn's news.

Also, on the topic in hand someone needs a kick up the a$$ for scheduling the Laois game so that Meath supporters are travelling during the Ireland France rugby game which is one of the country's biggest sporting events of the year, especially in the year BOD is retiring.

I dont think that I will be renewing my season ticket next year.

I couldn't care less about the rugby, but I probably won't go to the game anyway.
Last time I was in Portlaoise I came home with a terrible rash.

I would say when the word 'grim' was being invented, the inventor probably had this game in the back of his mind!

Grim

Etymology
From Proto-Germanic *grimmaz, from Proto-Indo-European *ghrem- ("to thunder"). Cognate with Old Saxon grim, Old High German grim (German grimm, grimmig), Old Norse grimmr (Danish grim), Swedish grym; and with Greek χρεμίζω (chremízo), Old Church Slavonic грьмѣти (grĭměti) (Russian греметь (gremetʹ)), Latvian gremt. Perhaps related in Old Norse to veiled or hooded, Grim is also an alternate name for Odin, who often went around disguised, compare the hooded appearance of The Grim Reaper.

Clipped Queen's co. by a just a couple of scores after being double scores down at the break.
I wasn't there but judging by the radio commentary we had to dig very deep to get the win.
Tricky tie against Down next will test us so great to get points on the board.

I believe Michael Collins was his usual fair & impartial self when it comes to reffing Meath games.

When that Louth buck on LMFM thinks Meath should have gotten a free, you know something is amiss.

Brendan Cummins a Dunsany man I think.....defo not a Louth man. Doesn't he sit on Leinster Council as Meath's rep. He used to anyway. A very good commentator too that's for sure.

That's a great win for Meath. Didn't go myself but listened to it on the radio, really exciting and good we ended up the the right side of a close game.

That was an important win. There's no reason we can't get four more points and stay safe. Of course, there's also no reason we mightn't get any more. The game in Drogheda could be a relegation battle and a chance for Louth to demote us for the second time in three years.

Laois brought on a sub last night. "James Finn comes in," said commentator, Cummins. "Unusual name," said Mattie. I don't know why he said that. It happens to be the name of my grandfather and one of my uncles. Is it strange? And even if it is, what was Mattie's point?

Mattie Kerrigan - strange name. How does he like that?

This merits a strongly worded letter I think Hardy.

Delighted to hear Shane had a good game last night.
He'll be a huge addition if his injury woes are behind him.

James Finn is from Ballyfin - where Dont Matter hails from (Upper Sconce or Lower Sconce ?).

Maybe there has been so much immigration in recent years that we no longer recognise common Irish surnames  :D

Tough job now for Laois to avoid relegation - away to Monaghan and home to Down.

They do it just to annoy us. He's not good enough for the championship (http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/collins-gets-marching-orders-from-football-championship-panel-230694.html), but they wheel him out of a richly merited suspension to referee us in the league.

It's wide open now with everyone beating each other all over the place.

Only four teams of the thirty two in the whole league have won more than three games out of five.
