Quote from: mrhardyannual on August 30, 2017, 10:54:59 PMVery good post. I thought PP's representative should have been taken to task when he said they wouldn't do it on a mosqueQuote from: Don Johnson on August 30, 2017, 10:03:12 PMI wouldn't claim to be overly religious but devotion to Our Lady of Knock is important to me and has helped me through a major crisis. Like thousands of others around Mayo and neighbouring counties I took part in the vigil walk to Knock for dawn Mass on Aug 15th. I don't expect others to agree with my beliefs but I do expect that places and practices that are sacred to me and others would be respected. I would never disrespect the sacred places of others. It seems like Catholics are the only "minority" it's fair to insult.
Fair play to them. Thinking outside the box, having a bit of craic. Is anyone even religious anymore?
If Paddy Power thought it was harmless why skulk in at night. When asked by Joe Duffy if they would do something similar at a mosque the spokesman fr PP said that they wouldn't like to draw the ire of ISIS upon themselves. What brave champions of free speech! For the record I would find a similar projection at a mosque/synagogue/ church hall/ humanist meeting place etc equally objectionable.
Quote from: RedHand88 on August 06, 2017, 05:09:30 PMWrong, playing games is an outdoor hobby, watching outdoor sports is a hobby where 1 can choose to be covered and comfortable or uncovered and uncomfortable and pay accordingly.
Going to games is an outdoor hobby. As in all outdoor pursuits there is a risk of getting rained on. Want to stay dry? Just watch it on tv.
Quote from: RedHand88 on August 06, 2017, 02:44:44 PMOccasionally? Are you having a laugh! In any case I'm Not blaming the GAA for the weather I'm blaming them for charging the same price for covered and uncovered seating.
It's Ireland. It rains... occasionally. Prepare accordingly. Can't blame the GAA for the weather. And the beer is grand! No worse than you'd get in the pub. Irish begrudgement in full display in this thread.
Quote from: Jinxy on August 06, 2017, 12:54:46 PMIts not the fact that it's instant, it's the fact that it's more expensive than what you'd pay a barista to make for you anywhere else. I have on many occasions defended the GAA on issues relating to finance but it's wrong to completely rip off your own people as soon as you get them inside the groundQuote from: Dougal Maguire on August 05, 2017, 10:47:31 PM
Stadium is a joke. First 20 rows in Hogan, dread to think what Cusack and Davin are like, are open to the elements yet cost the same price as those under cover. Catering a disgrace, flat beer, instant coffee and hugely overpriced
Oh, the humanity.
Quote from: Boycey on August 06, 2017, 11:49:57 AMI don't accept that. If you bought something in a shop and it was substandard you'd complain and rightly so. I paid almost £130 for 4 tickets and found that they were substandard and we got soaked.
If there was an Olympics for moaning we'd win gold every single time. It's Ireland, it rains sometimes, by a poncho for a couple of quid and get on with it ffs.
Quote from: T Fearon on August 04, 2017, 07:35:40 PMYup, that's a pretty fair analysis of the task ahead.
Tough tough draw. They eliminated Legia Warsaw in the last round.Celtic have traditionally tended to rely on late heroics in the second leg home tie in this round in the past, that option isn't available.A major step up in performance from the Rosenborg games will be required to have any chance
