The semi-final lineup is now:

Graiguecullen v St Josephs
The Rock v Kilcavan

The Rock v Kilcavan will be an interesting match local rivals should be a good fight Kilcavan should be better but you'd be a fool to underestimate the Rocks chances against Kilcavan.

I am unsure of what way graiguecullen or st josephs are at the minute

Its another year where the second biggest town in laois(allowing that part of port is offaly) doesn't have a senior team.

At one stage for a period of 7 years in the 2000s both Mountmellick and the Rock were senior does anyone know of if they played each other at senior level in Championship.

Crettyard 2-12 Mountmellick 0-10 Laois IFC Final Crettyard are the new Laois Shopping Centre Intermediate Football Champions after a hard-earned victory over Mountmellick this evening in O'Moore Park. The game was in the balance until midway through the second half, when a Cormac Murphy-led Crettyard asserted their dominance to win the game and secure their...

Was neck and neck until Crettyard got the goal before halftime,  best team won no point saying otherwise Mountmellick started going for goals a bit too early if had just have taken the points and went for goals later might have made it more respectable at least put a bit of doubt in Crettyard.
Only consolation for Mountmellick is that whoever comes down wont be as strong as Crettyard.

Well we will see how Crettyard go on in their Leinster campaign

The Laois champions will have a home county venue against the Longford winners on Saturday, November 2. Should they win that they'd be away to the Dublin or Louth champions a week later.

Mountmellick and Crettyard met in the 2020 semi-final in Stradbally when Crettyard were comfortable 3-14 to 0-9 winners. They were then beaten in the final by Clonaslee-St Manman's six days later.

Prior to that they did battle in Round 3 of the Laois SFC in 2015 with Mountmellick eventually emerging winners after a replay. Indeed Mountmellick knocked Crettyard out of the championship in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as well as in the 2008 quarter-final.

Quote from: Heshs Umpire on September 27, 2024, 10:40:20 AMNo disrespect to Crettyard but it would be good to see senior football back in a big town like Mountmellick. Whichever of them wins it should be well able hold their own at senior.
Mountmellick probable one of the teams thats not senior but has the most potential of becoming a competitive senior team of course their larger population base helps but still seems to be players coming through and ones that possibly could improve their team.
Ofcourse their is smaller areas that make better use of what they have but Mountmellick has potential to be competitive at senior.

Arles-Kilcruise 1-7 Timahoe 0-5 - full time

Timahoe get the last three points but it's too little, too late.

Arles-Kilcruise end the year on a high with the Laois IFC 'B' success.

Arles Kilcruise Intermediate B winners dont really understand why this was intoduced at Intermediate their isnt enough teams for it to be a proper competition

Rosenallis 2-10 Ballylinan 0-6 - full time

All over here in Annanough. Comfortable win for Rosenallis. They are safe at senior level for another year.

Ballylinan's tough season continues.

They have one game left to avoid an instant return to intermediate grade.

They'll play the losers of Courtwood and Ballyfin in two weeks' time to decide who drops to intermediate for 2025.

If Ballylinan aren't careful they could be back were they were last year and might not be as easy to bounce back up

Rathdowney-Errill are through to their first SHC final since 2019!

Abbeyleix got a consolation goal right at the death as a 65 made its way through a smattering of bodies, but it was only in consolation as the final whistle immediately blew.
