A weird rules question. Playing fourball matchplay; searching for a ball 1 player lifts his playing partners ball accidentally mistaking it for random lost ball subsequently to find out its his partners ball, what's the ruling? Any penalty to this team and/or which player before play recommences?

Think I got it; 1 stroke penalty under rule 18-2 causing the ball to move in play

Also using the 3/4 rule, what holes are shots applicable with this 4 ball? Player A 16, Players B&C 21 and Player D 22.

Take 3/4 shot difference of the low man.

Players B and C get shots on Stroke Index 1,2,3,4. (3/4 x 5 = 3.75 - round up to 4)
Player D gets shots on Stroke Index 1,2,3,4,5. (3/4 x 6 = 4.5 - round up to 5)

I'm not sure if it is actually the 90% rule applies here of 3/4 rule. 90% may be only for singles matchplay.

Think it is 90% now https://www.golfnet.ie/news/golfnet/904/handicap-systems-changes-from-january

90% all round as far as I know

Teachers do get it handy, so they should just shut to heck up and get on with their jobs.

So much for teaching being a vocation.

Tomás Ó Sé on TG4 tonight reckons Mayo can still win this years senior All Ireland.

They can, they're still in it.

12 years ago, that semi final, 1 kick of a ball away from ... Getting humped by Kerry too  :(

Would still be a fantastic result to come away with a win tomorrow. #DareToDream  ;)

Quick rules question. You hit your ball over water, red stakes about 20ft in front - it travels in play over the fairway and fades right, back over the water and red stakes which were all down the right. Where should the player take his drop from, first point it crossed the red stakes or the second point where it had travelled over the fairway 200 yards down the fairway?

You weren't playing the 13th at Concra Wood by any chance ;D. I did similar there and one of the guys I was playing with was adamant I dropped at the first one I was keener to go to the 2nd point of entry. Often wondered what the correct answer was..

It was the 15th... :o  By the sounds of it I should have been allowed the drop closer to the green than the guys were telling me

Two great appointments given the state of affairs at the club with no European Cup next season
