Good to see Lukaku playing well in what is hopefully an audition before he's off loaded to Palace in the summer.

I was thinking he'd go back to Chelsea or Everton.

He won't go back to Everton and Chelsea have just bought Higuain. He'll be off to Italy if he leaves, I can see him at Juve; Apart from Ronaldo they don't have anyone else who'll score a load of goals for such a huge club.

He's going to be a lot easier to shift then Sanchez this summer anyway.

After last summer's lack of spending I just hope OGS is backed this summer. Bring in 3 top players to give him a chance of competing for the top honours.

All the talk of a DoF has all but disappeared, the overachievement of OGS has calmed the restless natives... If you were going to appoint a director of football surely he'd be in place now working on this Summers strategy? Or are we going to have Ed overruling a manager again this Summer.

There was talk of Eric...

Djemba Djemba?

Southampton 1-0 up at half time with a long range strike that i think DeGea should have saved. Old Trafford has become a happy hunting ground of late for the saints with only 1 defeat in their last 5 visits.

In the end a hard earned and well deserved 3-2 win and United could afford a Pogba penalty miss late on.

Southampton goal 2nd half was the only chance i recall them having. Lukaku stepping up with 4 goals in the last two games and Ole should have given him the penalty to take. Pereira probably MOTM great goal and assist for the 2nd goal. Sanchez went off injured after 52 minutes but the time he was on the field was like playing with 10 men.

United's income has continued to rise regardless of the performance on the pitch. Annual revenues grew from £363.2m in 2013 to £590m last year, behind only Spain's Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Current executives, former staffers and others with close knowledge of club affairs describe a paradox — a sports business that has become untethered from on-field outcomes.

Despite these impressive financial results, however, it is becoming harder to avoid the awkward question — can United continue to be one of the most profitable and respected clubs in the world if the team does not challenge for major trophies?

Pretty threadbare squad travelling to Paris

De Gea, Romero, Grant; Bailly, Dalot, Lindelof, Rojo, Shaw, Smalling, Williams, Young; Fred, Garner, Gomes, McTominay, Pereira; Chong, Greenwood, Lukaku, Rashford

Expectations would be low. If Utd can score first it will be interesting but I'm fully expecting Utd to exit the competition this evening. Top 4 and a good show in the FA cup is more than acceptable when you see how the first half of the season went.

He should have saved the second.

If you watch De Gea, he never goes fully stretched out when diving. He's obviously afraid of landing awkwardly and hurting himself. I think that's why he reaches across his body with his right hand when the obvious thing is to go with the left, as he could reach further as the ball is on the left side.

One eye on Sundays game

I don't think any keeper would have saved that outstanding strike on the 2nd goal Benny. Young giving away a silly free was to blame there.

With so many players out the starting team picks itself for tomorrow night. Half of that team probably wouldn't be starting if Ole had a full hand to choose from and i think only Martial,Pogba will be back for Sundays game.

Typical that Sanchez knackers himself ahead of the Arsenal game... the only team he's put even half a shift in against since joining United.   If they can't find someone to take him in the summer buying out the contract has to be the only viable option as euthanasia is still illegal!  :P
