Couldn't be much better in terms of keeping the mileage costs down!

Real Talk

It will a difficult Div for Derry to stay in.  But that said the rule changes create a problem for all teams .. though we still need a few more threatening forwards.

OakLeaf

It's going to be interesting all round. New rules, new manager, arguably the players better rested going into the season. I fancy us to scrape a stay in div 1. If we're 80% of what we were last year then we'll be ok. Forwards is an issue but hopefully our work rate will help.

Dublin in Croke Pk would be the one that really sticks out, the rest very winnable. We'll stay up OK imo

I think the opposite re forwards. McGuigan, Loughlin, Murray all serious workers and will thrive in more space, also rotating the players and pushing the likes of Glass, Doherty etc into the 3. As we've only, in old money, 1 or 2 real marquee forwards, the new rules will benefit rotation and spread of scoring, of which we're v good at (as we've had to be)

McGuigan is the one marquee forward, Murray has alot of potential but wouldn't have him in that category as yet.

Murray has all the physical tools, would like to see him impose his will abit and gain some consistency

Yeah I think the new rules will suit us maybe, add Murphy into the mix too and hopefully some luck with injuries then we can def get scores.
Though we won't have the same volume of players in attack with the 3 staying back rule.
Does the keeper count as one of the 3 staying back?

Was in Celtic Park yesterday watching the Cathair Dhoire game. It was a good competitive game between two evenly matched teams. Its fantastic seeing young men from the City getting exposed to such a high standard of football that they normally wouldn't be exposed to. Most of the boys quite comfortable at this level and what a performance from Brian Ogs player Caoimhin Wray he was excellent throughout covering every blade of grass. Charlie Green very assured in goals making a fantastic save in the first half. Very proud of our own lads putting in a very good display Oran Donnelly, Conor O'Donnell & Somhairle McFadden & the other lads on the panel all very impressive. 100% a worthwhile exercise and hopefully the other City clubs will benefit from this for years to come.

I see they've progressed now after thinking they were out, what happened there?

They put in a complaint to Ulster Colleges regarding the result of one of the earlier group fixtures involving D'more. Ulster Colleges reviewed the footage and changed the score line of one of D'more games. This meant both schools finished on -21 score difference. Cathair Dhoire progress as they scored more than D'more.

Works out brilliantly for Cathair Dhoire as they get another game but they'll be up against a very good Donegal team.

Is St Patricks Academy a Down or Antrim Schools?

Why isnt there a Belfast Selection like there is with Derry City?

Are you for real?

The Academy have been in 5 finals since 2010 and you don't know where they are from?

Dungannon which is neither in Antrim or Down!

Apologies my mistake; when I was googling it it was coming up as Lisburn School. Too many St Pats Schools I get mixed up haha.

Why is there no Antrim School or selection surely this is a severe disadvantage to football in the county.
