No idea why Bradley is being mentioned in these conversations.

agreed

although Glenullin are limited in resources at the moment, their tactics lacked any imagination last weekend

Has he not won the last 2 IFCs in Derry with Glenullin? Did he also win an IFC with Newbridge? He's been managing at intermediate level for the last couple of years which complements Doran who's been managing at Senior. I've no idea if this rumour is correct but there's a logic there.

No doubt that will come in handy when Derry are playing the likes of Dublin / Kerry / Armagh / Galway.....

Management experience isn't everything, look at how Harte managed against those teams...

While I appreciate he wasn't in the role for long and was hindered by some eligible players being kept in the senior panel, Bradley didn't exactly set the world alight as U20 manager. Considering the high bar set at underage level in the last few years his return was poor.

Not exactly. For the most part, our u20s /u21s has been an after thought, 1 title in 25 years attests to that. Hopefully with Mackers moving up will address this

No idea if there's anything to the rumour about PB, but he did an ok job with Donegal along with O'Rourke when they both had to step up. They settled the ship and Donegal has started to turn the corner. So he has some experience with a top IC side.
I wouldn't have any major issues with him being part of a backroom team.
Muldoon had no massive managment credentials when he joined the back room and there were no issues there.
Some people just have an issue with personalities....in the workplace people can be really good at their job without having the personality.

I think that's a lot of the issue people have with RG too, didn't like his personality before the allegation, and then had him judged as guilty straight away even though no-one really knows what actually went on.

I took Rory way back, and just dealt with the fall out. Next season a write off already, when u should been peaking into a 4/5yr cycle from getting pipped by a point by Donegal 4yrs ago.

Steelstown didn't have a match for a month and had been put in senior on their own due to winning Ulster intermediate last year. Irish News had a bit about it today.
Magherafelt intermediate winners had originally been the team scheduled to play but presumably they said no to go into Ulster intermediate.
All pretty bizarre.

Its more like 3 months since Steelstown last played a competitive game! They have struggled to arrange challenge games as other clubs in rival counties are currently playing Championship matches.

It's an absolute disgrace that Steelstown were not allowed to play in the Derry Intermediate Championship as they were deemed a Senior Club, then to be told they had to play an Intermediate club for the right to represent Derry in the Senior Ulster Championship after sitting cold for 3 months.

Its not a major surprise Steelstown had a slow start v Ballymaguigan having played zero competitive football the past 3 months v a team that is battle hardened. The mistake Steelstown made was agreeing to play the Senior Final considering they have been frozen out by their own County board the last 3  months.

Add in the fact a lot of clubs conceded league games v Steelstown this year, the whole thing is an absolute farce.

I take it Steelstown will be joined in the Senior Championship next year by Ballymaguigan (current Senior Champions) & surely Magherafelt are also promoted to Senior Championship as Intermediate Champions. I won't hold my breath on that.

We're now in the embarrassing situation where our Intermediate Runners Up are representing the County in the Senior Ulster Championship.

There isn't another County in Ireland this would be allowed to happen. I don't see why Steelstown weren't allowed to play the Derry Championship with the winners going on to represent Derry in the Senior Ulster Championship and the Runners Up representing Derry In the Ulster Intermediate.

Imagine a scenario this year where Derry County Board had said Glen were too good to play in the Derry Senior Championship as they won the All Ireland last year and every other Senior Club in the County played in the Championship for the right to play Glen. Glen sit cold for 3 months then play either Newbridge, Slaughtneil or Magherafelt for the right to represent Derry in Ulster! It sounds ludicrous doesn't it but this is basically what has happened to Steelstown this ladies this year. An absolute disgrace and embarrassment to all involved in ladies football in Ulster and Derry County Board!

To finish i want to say massive congratulations to Ballymaguigan on the victory and the very best of luck to them in Ulster, they have taken advantage of the opportunity they were given and have done nothing wrong.

Tottly different but didn't there an issue with Steelstown a few years ago in Ulster?

Did they concede a match or something?
