I for one am sceptical about this and the timing of same. With a general election looming could it be a ploy to take the pressure of the Swish Family Robinson and their vast wealth. I bet she'll be back.

Tony its all a conspiracy against the Fanatical Catholic, Extreme Republican, Pure Blooded Gaels who support the Bastions of Irishness Tottenham Hotspurs.

A trophy is a trophy and an european one doesn't come round very often.

You say that.....though it would be Liverpool's 9th ;)

Good series starting today between England and South Africa... pretty even first day

A strange decision by Andrew Strauss to put South Africa in this morning especially when Dale Steyn, South Africa's main strike bowler pulled out with injury at the last minute today.  It would have been a great chance to get a big total on the board.

Should be a cracking series.

His weekly hatchet job on Rafa is particularly hard to listen to especially when 99% of his cliched analysis could easily be applied to the managerial genius that is Arry.

Redknapp has never done a hatchet job on anybody, Rafa included. wouldn't have the b*lls

He does it regularly.  It was so bad the other week that the abuse probably went a bit far on one of the forums I was reading.  Only for Jamie to open his summary on Liverpool the following week with 'the players have to take a lot of the blame'.  Maybe the news is getting through to Jamie that he is quickly ruining any reputation he had with Liverpool fans.

Is there video of this anywhere as I've truly never seen him say anything controversial about anybody mind u I do try and avoid the pre and post match analysis most of the time. Will make an exception for Souness though, think he's usually spot on, especially the night he asked Dunphy how many medals he had..

It goes back a few seasons with Jamie and hasn't really stopped since.  'How dare Rafa play my mate Stevie G on the right side of midfield' etc etc.

Sounness can't say much about Liverpool either since the club are still trying to recover from the mess he left.

Phil Thompson really is the flogging boy on Skysports. The rest of the panel always wind him up about Liverpool and take the piss out of him, sniggering at each other. He just does not have the is too intelligence to be there.

Fixed that for you! Merson, Nicholas, Le Tisser etc etc etc are all clowns. Nothing to say and have gone from playing the game to rehab to sitting in a studio trying to make themselves sound important and knowledgeable. At least Thommo has done something in the game as a player and in mgt, he is bias (as you'd expect) but he always calls it fair and calls a spade a spade.

Your post says it all "sniggering at each other", are they at primary school and discussing football on live tv FFS

The Wordsmith that is Paul Merson.  He'd give Shakespear a run for his money!  England penalty coach wannabee ( :D :D) Le Tissier and Champagne Charlie Nicholas.  The football oracle right there.

I suppose the Hairy Handed Halfwit was asking Herr Klinnsman how his Scouse is coming on after the game lastnight?

QuoteI was born in the British archipelago and English is my native tongue, so I am British.

Are all persons in Ireland equally British then? Are people from the Isle of Man Irish given that they were born in the Irish sea?

Gary McAllister deserves a slot in Mid field. He was very consistance.

Gary Mac was super and you could argue that he was driving force behind the treble. His second year he only played a bit part role. Pity we never had him 10 years earlier.

Had a few beers with Gary Mac's dad on the eve of the UEFA Cup final in Dortmund and he said that a move was lined up but Sounness was announced as manager and he refused to play for him.

He was trying to cover up the cuts on his head and face so the neighbours wouldn't see them.

He was in luck though, he had a handy cap.

Thought he was a 'scratch' golfer?

He might be scratching now!

Hope he withdrew from them as well or there could be a couple of paternity cases in the near future :o

Looks like our chances of making the world cup now hang by the slimest thread. Our last hope now is for Kim Jong Il to get pissed off with his group and aim a missile towards FIFA's HQ.

This is more likely than a 33rd spot for Ireland.  Apparently if the missile misses the FAI have asked him to launch a second one.

Meanwhile, Liam Brady and Main Street are going to keep digging.
