Leagues need to be finished finished before championship first round or at least the regular programme of fixtures outside of play offs etc. More starred games required - clubs will have to like it or lump it.

Sure all the starred games weren't used this year!

Were they not saving the last star game for between semi final and final if Tyrone had have made it?

Both Augher (v Owen Roes) and Strabane (v loughmacrory) have conceded today's games in intermediate. Strange enough as both teams have something to play for with Augher still in with chance of promotion play offs and Strabane not safe from being caught in relegation play off.
Loughmacrory making waves around the county again for all the wrong reasons. Refusing to change the game today after a death in the Strabane club leading Strabane to concede the game. Very unnecessary.

That was my initial thoughts on it when first seen it. Two team must agree for a game to be moved

Division 2 crying out for last day of season Gillette soccer saturday treatment... By the look of it Beragh and Urney only two teams who know their fate. Unbelievable Jeff!

Would it not be better to have the leagues finished up before the championships start?

Goals_Will_Come

County board would really need to do a review of the league structures.
Situation in division 2 with a number of teams tied on 13 points for the final play off place and seemingly none of them wanting to be in them. Would it not make sense to cut the play offs altogether or atleast cut the amount of teams that play in them.
Fixtures dragging on in mid-late November maybe December.
Surely it can't be too much of an ask to plan for all fixtures to be played pre-championship. Im sure plans could be put in place for club league games be played alongside the Senior Team making the AI Semi Finals and the U20's winning Ulster each year.

Think the reason playoffs were introduced was to stop teams from throwing games a lot earlier in the season. Massive overhaul is needed for club football. Something really needs sorted for Reserve football as it is effectively dead.

Beragh can mathematically make the promotion play offs.

Lough changed the time of the game twice at Strabane's request, first til 2pm then til 11am. Then Strabane decided not to field.

It has been voted down in the past (Most likely by non-playing dinosaurs like at National Level), but what about introducing 1B again - So essentially 3 Leagues x 12 teams and 1 x 13?
Or even break it down further again into 5 Leagues x 8 teams and 1 x 9? Play 7 starred and 7 non-starred.
Both options are feasible with the removal of playoffs so can be complete before championship begins. League & Championship Winners promoted, with bottom 2 relegated. Possibly play off 3rd top v 3rd bottom?
League Standings could be seeded for championship the following season to maintain appetite.
Reserve football is dying a slow death - Change is needed ASAP. We will have to break from tradition and split senior & reserve link. Expecting reserves to still be playing football in November is ridiculous.

20 out of 24 reserve games conceded yesterday. Have all 3 reserve championships even been completed? I know the intermediate was on last week but don't think senior has been played and not sure about junior?

Degrassi Hi

What will happen in Division 2 if there are more than 2 clubs on 15 points after the last round of fixtures? More playoffs to make playoffs? Aghyaran guaranteed to be on 15 points anyway as Urney have packed up for the year after yesterday. Be interesting to see how the others on 13 fair out. We only have another fortnight to wait to find out!!

Junior reserve championship final still not played. Which is frustrating from our clubs point of view. We where forced by county board to play (tried to get other club to agree change but didn't work for them) semi final 2 days before a senior championship game and with the new rules on player eligibilty our managers obviously had to make a call and prioritised the senior game understandably. We had 4 seniors on the bench. We had thought at the time county board must want to get it wrapped up but still hasn't been played. More BS from county fixtures comm.

Always thought it was a compromise to allow club games to be played on without involvement of county players?

Agree that a major overhaul is needed for club football. The current system isn't sustainable.

Edit: Any word on the proposed Dregish/Newtownstewart amalgamation? No mention of it on either of their FB pages, and Dregish are even advertising a Bazzar fundraiser for 1st December.

Yes that was another big reason for the playoffs as well.

Agree with other poster about decoupling the Reserve League from Senior League.

They will be playing next year under the name Naomh Eoghan.
