Only got into this myself lately here are some I follow or have followed.
John Aldridge -  The legend,He has replied to me a few times when I have asked him questions on Liverpool FC. He he gets some awful abuse from Manure 'fans' about Hillsborough.

Think Aldo has left twitter hasn't he. Or taking a break at least.

Yeah hasn't been on since start of April, said he was getting too much abuse from sicko Manure fans about Hillsborough.

I tweeted a joke about the elections and the BBC just read it out live. Whoop Whoop!

What was it?

Harry Hamilton is standing for the Alliance, as he wanted to break free from the UUP.

Guardian Sports journos - Barry Glendenning, Sid Lowe, Rafa Hoenigstein are all good.

McIlroy seems like a good lad. Tweeting about doing jagerbombs in the bot seems strange for a kid with the world at his feet!

BBC Breaking News is another very good one.

Think someone said **** of the day - can be good, can be crap.

Recommend anyone using a smartphone gets either TweetDeck or HootSuite for accessing it.

Plenty of GAA players online now with some good banter.

also agree with Poulter, still follow him, but he is a tit alright.

Conor Mortimer,Michael Murphy,Donie Shine,David Kelly,Brenard Brogan,Paul Galvin & Cian Ward to name a few..

For the nordie folks Jerome Quinn is worth following.

O Neill, did Kevin Davies pack it in recently due to the abuse he was getting ?

Yea, one of many. They seem to do that and then back down after a short while and return. To be fair to him and his like, there are some feckin weirdos out there who just constantly message celebs trying to be their mate and sometimes abuse them if they don't reply. Really sad.

The most valuable aspect to Twitter is the search function. If there's something happening in any form anywhere in the world, you can usually get more info on it instantly from eye witnesses - especially if you're on the road and there are road closures or going to a venue and want immediate information on parking etc.

Aye I noticed that one day. There was a creep telling Ferdinand or someone how great he was etc and I checked the chaps tweets it was literally message after message sucking up to various "celebrities". Sad is a good description.

If you're going to try and snipe about what you perceive as smugness ross (don't worry, big bad Gold will be along any month now to stick up for you and shout at me again), at least get your f**king metaphors right.

Politicians from all parties, north and south, political pundits, a few GAA sources and bands. Don't tend to follow 'celebrities'.
