Tyrone player tested positive?

Regarding county panels, are they getting tested a couple of times a week?

Awful trimming far from ideal preparation for the championship. Will Tyrone do any better against Mayo tomorrow?

Not ideal for Donegal but hardly a disaster either.
Game had a fair stink of a challenge match feel to it.
Once Kerry got the 2 goals in 3 minutes, the match was over as a contest, just two sides going through the motions.

Tyrone game may not go ahead. A senior player has tested positive.

Reports on twitter saying a confirmed case alright but that the game will plough ahead
Walk-in down mchale rd , sun out, summers day , game day . That's all .

Wonder what it will mean in terms of close contacts etc?

Good chance we could be down half a team?

Don't think there should be relegation in the circumstances. In Tyrone club football relegation was done away with this season in the interests of fairness. Mayo would have been relegated if there wasn't a lockdown in March and now it looks like they are going to get away with it.

In the event that Tyrone have to concede a walkover the rules are clear.

Rules are that Mayo get the 2 points so they would be safe on 7 points.

Then it all comes down to the Monaghan Meath game.
Monaghan win => Monaghan 7 points, Tyrone 6 points =>Tyrone relegated, Monaghan safe.
Monaghan lose => Tyrone on 6 points, Monaghan on 5 => Monaghan relegated, Tyrone safe.
Monaghan and Meath draw => Tyrone on 6 points, Monaghan on 6 points => comes down to head-to-head which Monaghan won so Monaghan safe, Tyrone relegated.

You wonder if there is much of a difference in the HSENI rules versus the HSE rules on this.

From the Offaly hurlers case, it seems like the GAA followed the laws of the land [the HSE] contact tracing rules in that case.

As such you'd imagine they will be following what the HSENI says on this as well.

So assuming the report of a Tyrone player testing positive is accurate, one big factor is likely to be whether the NI rules are stricter or more lenient than the Republic in terms of designating a close contact versus a casual contact.

The other big factor is how good/lucky Tyrone GAA were in terms of following the procedures at training/matches.

It could range from just one individual missing to the whole squad being ruled out.

Tyrone game may not go ahead. A senior player has tested positive.

If  a player tested positive he has to isolate for 2 weeks so he'll miss the Donegal game next week. How many other players are close contacts who'll have to self isolate and miss the game as well?

ONeill

Not necessarily 2 weeks. 10 days from the start of his symptoms.

Is it a prominent Tyrone player?

The Tyrone v Mayo match is on tg4 online, isn't it? What does that mean for us Northerners? Will it be geoblocked if you've a UK based ISP?
