Had a Sony, screen got accidentally damaged by one of the children, so changed to an LG.

I find the LG superior, much better interface and sound, picture as good as sony (I think most manufacturers use LG made screens anyway).  Added a sound bar to it and have no complaints at all.

Plus one for the LG i find them an excellent television but like any flat screen tv i agree you need some kind of soundbar to get the best overall experience . Anyone ever notice when you buy a wall mount for the tv they give you enough bolts and screws to hang a 100kg tv they must not have got the memo about how light flat screen tvs are
