Phil Jones starting alongside Varane today. Hope he goes well. Not overly optimistic about Utd's chances today.
When's the last time Jones played a proper game?

January 2020 in the FA Cup, not exactly sure when his last PL game was.

Burnley in January 22nd. Google's great!  ::)

Wolves far more dangerous look more likely to score.

Wolves have laid Utd a merry dance from the first whistle. Rashford should have stayed on the bench, the amount of times the ball has been given away!

Might as well stick to winning the champions league now

Full deserved win for Wolves. United were second best almost all the way through. Bruno should have buried that first chance. Phil Jones in fairness bar the header probably played better today than Maguire has all season. Speaks volumes that a lad away from game 2 years near enough United's best player today.

Ruben Neves. What a phenomenal player. Would surely be an better than what's there at the moment.

Same shite, different season.

Fair enjoyed that... United need A LOT of work!!

Cunny Funt

First win for Wolves in Old Trafford since 1980 and fully deserved. Honeymoon period well and truly over for Rangnick and should realise the task ahead of him with this group of players.  Jones did OK on a rare start,  best scoring opportunity United had was from Bruno, hitting the crossbar instead of the net.

Ed Ricketts

United got what they deserved from that. On another day Fernandes or someone pulls out a winner and they limp home, but the entire team looks so low on confidence and interest that they can no longer even rely on moments of individual brilliance from that expensively assembled forward line.

And they will continue to lose games like that because they lack the quality needed to exert any real control. Far too weak in midfield and in the full back positions.

This is the product of a decade of poor recruitment and poor strategic planning. Too much money invested in the wrong areas at the wrong time. The club desperately need some proper long term direction, maybe Rangnick is the man to provide that when he steps into the background. There's no quick fix for this club.
Doc would listen to any kind of nonsense and change it for you to a kind of wisdom.

Haven't seen much of United over the past month, except for the last 15 minutes there today. Wolves were easily the better team in the bit I saw.

Is Rangnick starting to put any imprint on the team in terms of a way of playing, taking the various long term deficiencies into account?

stiffler

Brutal from Utd, de gea far and away their best player this season, reverting back to the Utd of old.

My dad and eldest brother was at that game 40 odd years ago, Wolves took the opportunity when it came.

Scoring Zone

An example needs to be made of a few big hitters in the squad eg - Maguire stripped of captaincy ( hasn't the bottle, ability or personality for it), Rashford dropped indefinitely (him, Greenwood and Lingard seem to be a brattish, spoilt and entitled group of d**kheads atm), Lingard sold, Ronaldo benched, Cavani main striker for a few months and in general a root and branch assessment of the culture of the club, its leaders/staff and where it went so tits up ... so many players need a kick in the hole

Ghost

Cavani was as poor as anyone tonight I thought.

Mad how Neves and Moutinho are even at Wolves, huge oversight by the top 6 not to get these lads 4-5 years ago, esp Moutinho, it's like he was one of the biggest transfer rumours for 4 or 5 years solid, that goes quiet as the rumour mill hyped someone else so he's forgotten about and he ends up at Wolves and going great guns, all the while pure pish playing MF for utd arsenal spurs. I know there's a Portuguese connection at Wolves but that wouldn't have mattered if a big team came in. Steven Nzonzi played for Stoke and Blackburn ffs, was pure class, went on to win the WC with France, how tf Utd Lpool etc didn't take him, was the Andy Robertson transfer of his day

Part of me wants Roy Keane or someone like that to be given full reign purely for the fireworks. Every single player needs a serious toe up the hole.

Too many lazy shits in that team. I mean Marcus Rashford has been awful for a long time. He was a better player when he burst into the team and has made zero progress and not developed to anywhere near his potential but he seems to get a massive bye from everyone because of his school meals work (which is great but not what UTD pay him to do)

He needs dropped, Slab needs the captaincy stripped and him dropped.
