Was sceptical about the iPhone when it came out. Gave in, bought one and now love it.

Can't see what the big deal about iPad is though? Beyond looking pretty good what are the big selling points?

If players and fans could get their heads round some basic rules referees might have more of a chance....... For example:

A rolling ball can NOT be picked straight up

There is no such thing in the rule book as a 2 man or 3 man tackle. 15 players can tackle 1 as long as they do it within the rules of the tackle.  There is nothing in the rule book says only 1 person can tackle another at any given time

Umpires cannot call fouls. They can only give an opinion IF ASKED by the ref.

I know refs can be mighty inconsistent at times but if folks knew the basic rules it would stop a lot of ill informed slabberin

Might as well get it started early!

I would imagine the team won't change significantly between the Kildare n Meath line outs for this. MH may well surprise everyone and leave SoN on the bench in favour of Donnelly.

Only Justy would def improve the team at present, if fit, assuming Philly has indeed retired.

From the u21s I imagine McNeice, McNabb, Donnelly and Coney would have a fair chance of joining Harte n McKenna. Don't think Girvan will make it this year and it's still prob too early for Ronan oNeill (although MH may feel some experience with senior team would be worth it).

Hopefully the Curran experiment is over for the summer again and we won't see him until next years mcKenna where he does his traditional curates egg performances.

General discussion / Bob Dylan Cover Versions
March 12, 2011, 12:33:15 PM
One of the worlds greatest songwriters with one of the worlds worst voices.

Why are there not more decent covers of his songs - only ones I can think of off the top of my head that are good:

Wilco / Fleet Foxes - I shall be released
Edie Brickell - A Hard Rain

Is this a must win for Tyrone? I think it is if we are to entertain any chance of promotion......

Will Mattie Donnelly get brought into the squad?

Will McKenna start?

Is Block just not match fit or is time catching up with him?

Is SON the player he was?

Can Sean get back to 08 form?

Where is Peter Harte best suited?

Will  Cass last a full game in MF?

Will Hub learn to pass and not shoot?

Is Mugsy back?

Lot of questions to be answered.........

Watching the pain on J Doyles face when the final whistle went got me thinking. You certainly wouldn't begrudge him an AI before he retires. Same with Benny Coulter. Cluxton or the Brogans I wouldn't mind either, same with Mattie Forde.

On the flip side I sincerely hope the 2 bradleys never get a sniff and was pleased that Ciaran Whelan never lifted Sam.

Quote.A referee was due to undergo a brain scan today following an assault by a parent after an underage football game.
Donal Gallagher, from Termon, Co Donegal, was hospitalised suffering a broken jaw after the vicious assault during the GAA match in Co Donegal on Wednesday evening.
The personal trainer and fitness instructor, who is in his mid twenties, was refereeing an Under-16 Divisional Three final between Milford and Lifford in Convoy when the incident occurred.
Lifford had been ahead for most of the game but Milford snatched victory by just two points in the closing minutes after two Lifford players had been sent off. After the final whistle, the young referee received what one spectator described as "a fierce slap on the jaw," allegedly from the father of one of the Lifford players.
"The Convoy officials did their best to get him to the dressing room safely after the match but the parent of one of the players hit him a right punch," said the spectator.
The injured referee was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital. He was later discharged but returned after complaining of feeling unwell.
Last night he was described as in a comfortable and stable condition. He was due to undergo a brain scan today.
The Chairman of Donegal's GAA Referee Committee Frankie Doherty confirmed last night that an investigation was under way.
"This has done nothing to enhance the image of the game and encourage young people to take up the whistle," he said.
Some spectators claimed that the referee had struggled to control the game which was unruly in its closing minutes.
A number of off-duty gardai who witnessed the events, attempted to break up the ensuing fracas.
County youth officer Liam McElhinney described it as "a very serious assault" on the referee. He said that the Board was now awaiting the referee's report on the incident.

From Belfast Telegraph.

F@ckin disgrace. Referees in Donegal should walk out over this if serious action not taken

Wonder if Paddy Heaney feels even the slightest twinge of regret over the sh!te he printed in his article about referees now?
