F*cks sake, they were awful. Why would anyone buy them? And every time I see that flecky abomination I think of Glen Hysen!!

What's the story with the Dub stars? I see it's got 'foreigners' who presumably play in the Dublin county championship, but does it also include county hopefuls? And why are Griffin and Goggins on that team?

Also, I didn't know Shane Ryan was old enough to have a son on the Dublin panel :D

I was thinking that alright, hence the smiley, although in fairness the smileys on the new board look a bit like a puzzled face. Must use the grin :D

I'm a part time fan of the Old Lady since Ian Rush went there.

Visited the Della Alpi two years ago (2004-2005 season) for the Juventus - Real Madrid Second leg. Shite stadium, great atmosphere, but a lunatic way of positioning the away fans. If you are in the Curva (sud?) you are in with the Juve Ultras, which is grand if you are shouting for Juve, but the Away fans are to your left and above left as well. We were pelted with bottles and flares all night. Mind you chanting 'Madrid, Madrid, El Puta Madrid' hardlly helped :D.

I actually got a clatter of a flare that night, jaysus they are hot. It hit me on the shoulder and burnt my jacket and scarf, before melting the seat I was standing behind when it landed.

Cisse is loaned to Marseille, but with a view to a permanent deal. But lets not go there eh? Cisse is a busted flush.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I would prefer there were minimal, or no, transfer deals done this January and even in the Summer. It takes a while to bed players in, and barring someone exceptional becomes available, and LFC have the money to do a deal, I say leave it so. Let's not go down the path of buying 3 or 4 more lads who take time to bed in, without adding anything major anyway.

If you look at LFC on paper this season as opposed to last, they are a better team and squad. But players need time to learn about each other, the manager, the environment etc.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love the money and the chance to buy a world class Striker and a couple of fantastic wingers, but that's unlikely to happen in fairness. As such, lets just see how this season ends and next season begins, and enough of the buying of decent squad players.

I believe it is being launched as part of the Setanta Package on the 8th of January. If you already subscribe via NTL or SKY Digital, you should pick it up. I pay €15 a month for the Setanta Package on Sky, and so far it comprises of NASN, Setanta Ireland, Setanta 1, Setanta 2, Celtic TV, Rangers TV, Racing UK and Racing World.

I presume (and hope) that Setanta Golf will just be added.

Very good interview with Jack O'Connor on Setanta last night. He was very upset with the animals last year.

Did ye read the Scots language website MW posted? It looks like a dyslexic lad trying to write English. I take his point though, that it is obviously not unique to Northern Ireland, and looks like it even originated in Scotland.

But you can find out more by ...

Contactin yer MSPs

Ye can scrieve til the Memmers o the Scottish Pairlament that has been electit for tae represent ye. Their contact details can be foond in the MSPs section o wir wabsite, although yon section o the wabsite is in English by its lane.

Whether it be a 'dialect' or simply the phonetic representation of an accent it is not a language. It seems to be a mish mash of a dialect, with it's own phrases, and an accent.  Is Cockney a language?

Half of those examples of Ulster Scots or Scotch given above just sound like someone speaking english with a wicked nordie accent. (eg 'Hi ye daen?' )The ad on Setanta is hilarious.

As Laureleye says maybe we could start the Offaly language society, because it's pure mule and jaysus muck savage as well.

Ulster scotch seems more like an accent than a language.

I've been at the San Siro, and while it is very well laid out in terms of views from every seat, the stadium itself is nothing to write home about.

The Millenium Stadium is a dinger.

Hi Lads and Lassies,

I haven't seen a thread on this, so apologies if one already exists. Is there a list of O'Byrne Cup fixtures knocking around?
