He's obviously following the lead of one of the most accomplished commentators who lead the way.  Liam 'suntan' Austin was a side-kick of another legend in commentator circles - the one and only Jackie 'OWC' Fullerton.  To every question that was ever asked in this show by Jackie, Austie's reply began with the phrase 'very much so, Jackie.'  The Championship programme lasted for a number of years but thankfully Jackie and Austie didn't last the pace.  Sean Mc Cague was also involved for a year or two.

Interesting that now that the GAA is, largely, being accepted by everyone in the North, we dont have any Sunday TV programmes showing highlights of ALL Ulster Championship games as well as semis/finals.  When everybody hated us Taigs, we had football every week.  This peace process just isn't working. lol

Has the makings of a drinking game. Every time he says it a short one should be downed.

Carney and Morrissey spent most of the second half wondering what went wrong with Meath and why all the pundits got it wrong.
They began to mention Cork occasionally in the last few minutes.

In fairness to Carney aparts from the 'very much so' overuse i generally quite like him, as for Marty, well it's all been said already....
Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth

QuoteCloc Mor, what is Liam Austin doing these days? Does he have any involvement in football?

Not sure.  After a brutal experience with Cavan I haven't hear him being involved with any other team since.  He's a Vice Principal in St Mark's Warrenpoint and looks after some team.  Barney Mc Aleenan has retired iand is not being replaced so theres a major gap in Gaelic Games.  Based on Liam Austin's track record, he will not fill the gap.

Cloc Mor

He tore his groin in the semi final v Derry but played on ending up with an injury that ruled him out until the All Ireland Final.  He was put on in the final, like Ambrose, by wee Pete.

Cloc Mor

Farrelly or Scruff is actually managing the SUPERDUPES or Rostrevor as most people know them, along with Jarlath.  Jarlath is still playing well with Rostrevor in the middle of the field but has an input on team selection.  2 fine lads

Marty Morrissey

What do you say about this man??

Its been repeated yet its neversinappropriate- "The man with the face for radio"

He looks so bad its like the joke is on us. Dyed Hair. Make Up. He should try to get involved with Podge & Rodge.

Think Carney is alright.

Northside Dub

Just wondering does anyone know what he means when he says

"stealing a march"

He says it so often during games i havent a f**kin clue what he's on about!
"Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect."

Can't remember who the player was but during the cork meath game yesterday a defender gave away a soft free to which Carney described as

"An eminently scorable free"

Whats that about?

Just mean's it was a very scorable free. Nothing wrong with that statement! I don't mind Carney apart from staring almost every comment with "very much so..." That, and his stat work for Mayo if The Road to Croker piece was an accurate portrayal of what he does  :(
