Had the pleasure of seeing Shane and the Pogues live in the old point depot two decades ago and was the among my most favourite gigs to attend. The man was a pure talent for music RIP

Bayern Munich 0 Copenhagen 0 the result after late drama of penalty given for hand ball in added only for the ref to change her mind once reviewing it on the screen.

So after that draw.

United can now only go through by beating Bayern and hoping Galatasaray and Copenhagen finishes in a draw

Copenhagen should beat Galatasaray at home regardless of what happens in Old Trafford.

2-0 and 3-1 up and end up drawing. Story of Uniteds CL group campaign. Wouldn't mind if Galatasaray were made work hard for their goals but in reality Onana every bit as bad as Degea was against Sevilla in last seasons EL quarter final.

Need big favours to reach the knock out stages now and TBH that United side that don't make themselves hard to score against and beat have no real business reaching it.

A good tongue in cheek remark there. Finishing 4th at best will be the target and will be challenge in itself to do that IMO.

Impressive 3-0 away result against a side fired up to win after they had league points deducted.  United was the better team in the opening 20 minutes and 2nd half. 18 year old Kobbie Mainoo looked good especially in the 15 minute period that Everton was on top and produced a fine goal line clearance.  Garnacho's goal up there with the best overhead goals scored but Neville giving him MOTM over Mainoo?  Penalty was the correct call and was suprise that Bruno gave the ball to out of form Rashford to take it. (has since said in the after match interview that he wanted to lift Rasford confidence with a goal)

Great fight and atmosphere. Katie proved her doubters wrong like any great boxer has in the past. Delighted for her.

Quote from: From the Bunker on November 24, 2023, 11:08:47 PMA small bit of trivia.

Paddy Kielty is the first (full time) presenter of the LLS to have sons.....

And it shows. natural fit for this show. Pat Kenny and Tubridy was either wooden, awkward or used a forced personality for this Toy show.

The young girl towards the end of the show did a good cover version of Vampire Olivia Rodrigo song. Not a easy song to sing and understandably that version had the lyrics toned down.

Quote from: jcpen on November 12, 2023, 02:28:16 PMYou mention Liverpool constantly, what's that about?
Liverpool supporters like yourself are on here constantly so why not?

Quote from: Saffrongael on November 12, 2023, 02:19:36 PMThat doesent make much sense, United made their worst start in premier league history, and are struggling to get out of an easy champions league group, have spent a fortune & you are wondering why ETH is under pressure ?

What has "devoid of confidence" have to do with anything?

How clearer can it be ? As for Liverpool, not sure any of it's relevant but they had no centre backs at all, but Klopp had built plenty of credit in the bank and most people with any sense knew their fortunes would turn when they got some players back.

Makes a world of sense. Injuries effect a team and confidence is the make up any team that cruises any Premier league games.  Champions league has been poor and as I said on Wednesday for a team lacking leadership and defending so poorly have no business going any further. In regards to the Premier League.  12 games into this season United have 21 points just two points off their their total after 12 games last season.

Quote from: RedHand88 on November 12, 2023, 01:22:13 AMBelieve it or not, United are the most in form team in the league over the last 5 games.

Brentford (H)
Sheff Utd (A)
City (H)
Fulham (A)
Luton (H)

And they didn't exactly cruise through those fixtures

Why would a United team deprived of confidence with a 2nd choice back 4 and no natural CDM, bedding in a new keeper and young striker be expected to cruise any Premier league game?

In 2021 Livepool with a similar set of defensive injuries ended up losing at home to Burnley,Brighton,Everton,Fulham without scoring themselves.

A win and clean sheet this afternoon against Luton side that drew and was close to beating Liverpool last Sunday.  Big chances not taken by Garnacho Hojlund 1st half and goal eventually arrived with unlikely scorer Lindelof on 59 minutes, after that Rashford wasted a big chance story of his season thus far.  More injuries added to already long injury list with Eriksen and hojlund going off.

Quote from: Look-Up! on November 09, 2023, 04:33:16 PMIt just shows how good a manager Pep is. The standards never fall with him. Top players on top money who have won it all, still go out and prove their worth for him. Opposite at Utd, play out of their skins when contract up for renewal, drop tools when the money secured. I know it's a poor reflection on them but a manger out of his depth doesn't help. Ultimately it's down to him to get a tune out of them.
As Pep said himself after the recent derby.

"We are in the same direction, me, the CEO, the sporting directors, the chairman. That is why I think the club is so stable."

It's the very opposite at United most managers including Pep would struggle to get any more tune out of that current United squad than Ten Hag managed last season.

Before Pep won his first trophy Man City spent around 500 million on 14 signings on what was already strong and solid base at City.

On Mount I'd wonder how much of manager signing he was, De Beek was simliar when Ole was manager who didn't fit in and appeared more of board signing. Amrabat signing another example of how poor the club are ran, a late signing brought in on loan deal and was injured and then shoehorned into left back. He was good in World Cup on a calm and composed Morocco team it's no surprise that any new player coming from another country would be struggling to make an impact among the current chaos.

Pure chaos to not get at least a draw out of that game. Yes Copenhagen had the man advantage for an hour but once United was 3-2 ahead 82 minutes played they should not be losing from that position yet did from dreadful defending.

Champions league campaign will be officially ended in Turkey in a couple of weeks and TBH a group of players lacking leadership and can't defend have no business going any further.

Quote from: NotedObserver on November 08, 2023, 01:20:39 PMIf Galway get all their players fit they are a formidable outfit and apart from Kerry/Dublin they are well out in front of the rest of the chasing pack

Galway are part of chasing pack that would be aiming to reach the last 4 in 2024 and might reach the final if they avoid Kerry,Dublin in the semi final. They rely on keeping Shane Walsh and Comer fit and in form. That will be easier said that done with Walsh to get little or no rest before Galway's season starts and Comer gets injured a lot.
