I would imagine Antrim is much the same. I recall somebody telling me you're suspended from that competition so if you get a 1 game suspension from Senior football league then you are free to play Reserve league or Senior championships for example if that match comes before your suspension can be up.

My understanding would be that you can't play reserve if you are graded.
I would imagine any inter county player would be on that grading list.

Most suspensions unless you batter the head of a referee are relating to the same code and same level. Cat I to Cat IV are these with only Cat V debarring you from all codes.

Our championships need an overhaul for next year. IHC a stand out. Groups of 5 and 6 teams. Groups starting on the 27th of July and running to the 21st of September!

What's the alternative? Half the clubs involved are dual so there needs to be an allowance for that. I think it's better this way than last year when they ended up squeezing in a Wednesday - Saturday game week while everything else was 2 week gaps across football and hurling?

Forget about the group stages and go knock out for all.

It's the month gaps that are no good to teams, in the IFC Sarsfields for example played Wednesday & Friday and played three games in just over two weeks. Other teams are waiting a month between games.
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

alternative is have 12 teams with 4 groups of 3, top two go through, relegation playoff for last? absolute stupidity having matches that mean nothing towards the end of the group

Exactly.

Glenravel play Cushendun on the 21st of September. Absolutly pointless
St Galls and Glenarm the same

Senior and Junior too. 3 teams through out of groups of 4. 2 of the groups in SHC and JHC only had 3 teams in it!!

Any word of a streamed game this week? Saturday evenings two games surely seem intriguing enough to stream one.
County champions going back 7 years to top the group or the first knockout fixture of the year between 2 teams who would consider themselves in the top 4 must surely offer at least one option to show live.

And unfortunately both dead rubbers.

Who would take the risk of streaming it when one or more teams may decide to rest players.

Id imagine corrigan would be the easier to video from. But North antrim neutrals will go to the Cushendall Dunloy game taking away from viewer numbers

Does the Belfast game not have a knock out element?

Misread thought you were referring to both top group games.

Yeah the Belfast one does have the knock-out element.

imtommygunn

Same in football and hurling though I fancy a reverse result in the Belfast knockout game.

Two games get the streaming service this weekend is great see. I just hope the commentary is an improvement and the one on Saturday is not two half strength teams going at it when there's a knockout game elsewhere.
Maybe the public vote will prove to be a good choice...... or maybe not......
