Just looking at Slaughtneils previous record in all ireland stage. Pretty good going.

2017 Cuala 3-21 - Slaughtneil 2-11
2018 Na Piarsaigh 3-15 Slaughtneil 3-8
2020 Ballyhale 2.24 Slaughtneil 2.19
2022 Ballygunnar 2.19 Slaughtneil 1.17

Great that the final v Poraferry is being televised. Ballygunner big favourites for Munster? Hope the Ulster Final is a cracker!

Brilliant entertainment last night under the lights in Armagh. Great to be show cased on RTE also. I thought the ref added to the excitement by letting the game flow.. normally it can be stop start at times but last night was anything but. A big advertisement for ulster hurling last night and that can only be a good thing showcasing the high work rate and skill level of 2 fanatastic clubs. Thought commentary and analysis was decent on RTE also.

I wouldn't rule out Portaferry either. But think Slaughtneil will have too much for them this year - just a gut feeling.

Brilliant game of hurling tonight. Entertaining from start to finish. Ref just let it go big time! Great stuff to watch. Slaughtneil a quality team and extremely fit. Without McManus Cdall would of been well beaten. That goal at the end.. similar to portaferry last year.. still a great hurler. Would like to see Slaughtneil go the whole way and win an AI club. Been to alot of their games the past few years and they are brilliant. A brilliant hurling team and the youth they have coming through also seem well able to cope at this level. Looking forward to Ulster Final v Pferry. Davy will have the cushendall boys at his disposal in December now!!

All the best to Conor McCann on his retirement from County hurling. A decent fella and put in a decent shift over the years for Antrim.

That's right, I forgot about the St Paul's Tournament... it starts at the end November. Is the ulster under 21 club tournament still going at Creggan?

That's all club football in the county finished now until the new year?

Just uni games with a handful of Antrim players involved.

When does the county squad get together to prepare for the 2025 season?

I was thinking myself Derrylaughan werent the weakest intermediate team to come out of Tyrone in a while.. just seen it mentioned on here that they were...

Cargin would be a step up from All Saints Clarshack.

100% agree Easttyrone23. I personally wouldn't have said all saints where underdogs at all yesterday to be honest though..  i would however assume that others outside Antrim would have just took that view based on lack of knowledge of the club and area in general.. a strong club which is only going to grow and continue to improve.

I'd say the GAA scene is pretty strong in Ballymena and is growing.. probably like most towns.

The club is located in a rural area just outside the town limits for those who dont know. The club would have a large membership and has teams fielding in all four codes.

Although a large amount of the people involved in the club come from the town alot are from the rural areas just on the edge of Ballymena which still within the parish.

I think alot of families moved to the town/area back in 60s 70s for work - so you'll have folk with a gaa background in the area with links to the club from North Antrim (hurling) and South West (Football). Now their kids and grandkids are b'mena born and bred and are playing football hurling or comogie with the club. It seems to be growing each year, as can be seen from the progress the club is making on and off the field.

I suppose in terms of schools you have St Louis, St Pats, Slemish College (Integrated) then a few state schools. A few kids in the area would go to Garron Tower and St Benedicts also, both of which are outside the town. Up until about 10 years ago there was 4 catholic primary schools in the town... these were then amalgamated into 2 large Catholic maintained schools. There's also an integrated primary school and a few state schools. The Catholic maintained schools and integrated schools do GAA.

I get the impression if your not from that immediate area you get the stereotypical views which we could all guess... but probably no different to other clubs in the north to be honest (not all but some).

In regards to GAA the area is also surrounded by strong established gaa clubs in the Glen's and south west of the county. The town centre in Broughshane Street even has an oneills store lol (teamkit)... I guess like much of the North, its changing. For the better.

Was at today's game in Cargin and the All Saints lads played well. Def a strong outfit and probably one that got away from them - that's sport
