Long overdue. He was either just saying things to try and be controversial (successfully on a number of occasions), or his ability to analyse a game or situation was really bad. Either way, not a serious analyst. He also struggled to remain impartial and control his emotions. All in all, a very poor pundit who should never have lasted this long.

The constant negativity is a lot. RTE should be promoting the product. The game today wasn't a classic by no means, but was interesting to watch at times during the first half, it's their job to keep me interested, if I want bad analysis, negativity and rose tinted nostalgia, Facebook is more convenient.

Pat Spillane and so many of the other RTE old guard are almost encouraging everyone to switch off unless it's Kerry V Dublin.

Mandatory retirement from RTE/RTE contractors on age grounds?  I think he'll be 67 this year.
