Sligo we're in my opinion the much better team today.  Backs we're very good and we had the majority of the posession.  I though the ref gave Roscommon a few easy frees but overall did a decent job.  Roscommon took full advantage of most of their scoring chances but were poor enough around the middle.  We have a chance against Galway even though they beat us by 4 goals that game was much closer than the score line suggests.  Congrats Sligo on making the semis.

I don't know how we won that but I don't give a shyte as long as we did.

We played better with 14 men but we looked terrible for 25 minutes of the second half.  This is the first time we have won Connacht at U20 (or U21)  so we'll take the win but there is a lot of work to do.  Some poor passing, running into tackles, bad shot decisions etc but we will worry about that tomorrow - today is all about history.

Up Sligo

We got out of Jail barely yesterday.  I was at the game and full credit to NY, they played well and have some real good players.

Sligo were destroyed at midfield until Conan Marren came in for the last 10 minutes or so and caught some great balls and distributed the ball well  Pat Spillane also made a contribution when introduced.  We made the all too familiar mistakes of bad passes, soloing into trouble, over carrying etc..  It certainly was a wake up call for us and I'm sure Roscommon are shaking in their boots after watching that game. ;D ;D ;D

At the end of the day it's a win and a game under our belts..

Roscommon themselves know all about scares in New York after what happened in 2016.

I believe they are injured - Towey was supposed to start I think but was substituted before the game.  Not sure about Hughes, hopefully they are available for the Rossies..

What's the position with Luke Towey, Pat Hughes for this upcoming semi final, all starters normally but weren't on the 26 yesterday.

I have watched 3 live games from Bekan Outdoors

Mayo v Sligo U17 2 years ago
Roscommon V Sligo in the U17 final 2 years ago
Mayo V Galway U20 this year

In every game the conditions were absolutely brutal, gale force winds, hailstones, rain etc..  The place must be on top of a mountain or something because it's very exposed.

We all know that Prunty and Co have pulled this stunt in the past and fair play to Sligo for sticking to their guns and fair play to the Mayo fans and everyone else for recognizing the fact that they tried to screw us and backing our stance.

May the best team win in the correct grounds - full stop..
