May 10, 2011, 02:14:20 PM
Hi lad/ladies,   i am considering a trip round the west coast of America next year but really have no idea of the best way to go about it. Thinking of a driving trip lasting around 4 weeks. Anyone with any info regarding flights, places to stay, best routes to take would be really appreciated.

                                                    thanks

General discussion / Grand National

Right lad heading over to the big one next week and wondering (from anyone who has been there of course) what is the dress code for the actual races. A few of the lads are talking suits but we are not in with the prawn sandwich brigade so i was going to go a little more casual. What the opinions?

GAA Discussion / Knee Trouble
March 23, 2011, 03:04:30 PM
Rights lad i have had this niggly knee injury over the course of the last 7 or 8 months. Symptoms include stiffness particularly after exercise and a constant pain around the front of the knee and into the sides. I have also noticed a loss of movement in the knee (doesn't bend as easily as it did or the other) I am attending a physio that has checked Cartileage and ligaments but all seems to be fine. She is now working on strengthening exercises but the knee is getting worse.

Anyone any similar injuries ? Any advice on what to do with it? All will be welcomed

General discussion / Reamonn Gormley Thai Tims
February 22, 2011, 12:18:31 AM
A very sad clip on Youtube of a young Scottish lad who taught Downes children from Thailand to sing celtic songs. Reamonn was stabbed to death  at the start of the month merely a teenager himself.

General discussion / Laptops and printers
January 10, 2011, 02:04:51 AM
Lads/ladettes, I have a limited knowledge of computers . I am looking to purchase a printer for my laptop but when I go online I am getting the computer jargon which goes over my head. Anyone out there know are there and specific requirements needed for a laptop printer? Can any printer be loaded onto a laptop and work ? Does it have to be wireless? Any suggestions or recommendations would help

General discussion / Choking dog
August 25, 2010, 12:09:37 AM
Was away there for a couple of days and since i have came back my dog has developed what can only be described as a choking syndrome. The dog is constantly choking and making funny noises as if something is stuck in it's throat. It has done this before after eating grass but this has been two days now. It is boking and sometimes coughs up white foam. It is eating and drinking ok and the general behaviour seems ok. Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

GAA Discussion / Gaa society gone wrong in armagh
April 25, 2010, 12:46:19 AM
Out tonight with an old boy that I played Gaelic against for many a year in north Armagh and we were disciscussing how bad the standard had got. We were saying the younger generation didn't really give a fiddlers and this was evident in the north Armagh area. It's an argument that really hits home and saddens me to see the gaa fade and be replaced by alcohol, meth, computers and other shite. Is society doomed in terms of gaa and sport. For Dublin tommorrow lads / lassies hope the boys in orange can put one over our old neighbours in croker.

General discussion / Winter Olympics betting/talk
February 12, 2010, 01:45:51 PM
Don't know if there has been a spread on this but i am going to get the snowball rolling  ;)

Just seen a good double for the 16th in the womens curling at the winter olympics both to win, Great Britain and Canada pays just over evens, both teams will have high expectations of winning the medal so they will be looking to get off to a good start. Also Germany @2/1 to be overall gold medal leaders isn't a bad bet they have a strong team out.

General discussion / iPod Touch
January 22, 2010, 11:04:28 AM
Lads got the iPod touch as a christmas present and it is lethal. Only downfall is i cannot access the internet unless i am within range of an unlocked  wi-fi. This is grand when the owners of wi-fi have their system unlocked. Are there any packages out there that i can subscribe to that would give me an internet package anytime on the touch? If so what are they and how do they work?

I know sky do one where you can watch the football and subscribe to sky sports but again you need to be within an unlocked wi-fi range

Lads hadn't really given much thought to this until it was raised at my own clubs AGM last weekend but a member of the crowd raised an issue to the county chairman asking where the money generated from the rugby and soccer internationals at croke went. He had it worked out as something in the region of £250,000 was to go to each county board. In this difficult time for clubs financially a cut of £7,000 would be a very welcome addition to any club. To date in Armagh this money hasn't been shared out (according to the county chairman) He had said that they went through a few different avenues of sharing the money out amongst the clubs but they all fell through and the money is still in the hands of the county board. This would include any money generated from all those games at croke, so not just this year. I started this thread because i would like to see what other counties have done with the money and also hear the views of other Armagh gaels on what they know about this issue.
