The way Armagh finished off against Fermanagh is our standard response, try to win pulling up, keep our next opponents guessing. I've mentioned it a few times before but  IMO Armagh always have to win not showing our full hand, we always like to think there's more in the tank for the next day, we always do it until we're found out and then there are no more next days.  I, along the rest of the county, would like to see us play to the full of our potential at all times, no need for shadow boxing/ mind games bollox that nobody cares about outside of the Armagh backroom team.  I think our approach is a major flaw in our mentality tbh, but it seems really ingrained at this stage and will only change with a new manager.

But it was only Fermanagh, so .....

Lol, I did miss that 😅

Glad to see Hearts at home, Kilmarnock away is potential squeaky bum tho - as is Aberdeen away this weekend.

I put KPIs in the overused words thread last week. A term that will very soon lose any meaning in sporting terms - bar becoming a form of ridicule.

In a full stadium, in a competitive game, with the crowd's dander up he gets a red.

Saturday Night Live's Beavis & Butthead parody is an instant classic

Quote from: bennydorano on April 14, 2024, 07:46:17 AMHas there been a bit of a sea change in general opinion? Seems to be a bit of common sense entering the debates - previously dismissed or shut down debates  imo.
The average person has common sense with these freaks. But they get called out for it so are afraid to say much.
I certainly don't view trans people as freaks. Trans rights shouldn't trump womens' rights tho (& their right to feel safe in women only areas), that seemed to be the road it was hurtling down for a long time. A section of the trans movement appear to not want to assimilate into society either. I don't care if they want to assimilate or not but I don't think society should have to put up with some of their outrageous nonsense either. They should have equality in society, they should also respect others in society.

Ripley (the talented Mr variety, not Aliens)  on Netflix is excellent, very measured and classy. Onto the last of 8 episodes. Andrew Scott has got a great death stare.

Quote from: nrico2006 on April 10, 2024, 06:47:22 PMDune 2 wasn't anything special, especially given the length.
Yes, that was my take on it as well. Thought Pt1 was slow paced, Pt 2 exactly the same. Pt 3 is in the pipeline. Should have made it an epic 10 pt series and saved us the wait.

If you read my post above there was a 2nd trial the Wednesday after the Hogan, presumably that was the day the Omagh players were invited, dunno if they attended. Up to the school to send 4 of their choosing.

Edit. To clarify: 2x trial days of 60 students per day, then there was a callback stage.

Prof Peter Higgs (of Boson fame), read his Obituary in the Times paper today, a great read it was too.

Here's one from the Guardian that I haven't read tbh.

Some obituaries are fantastic reads. It's a journalistic art form.

To me Tyrone look like a team with no thought out plans/structure, talent alone gets them through some games, that's why they blow so hot & cold imo. Could take Derry on a hot day and get embarrassed on a bad day whereas Donegal & Armagh will keep it tight v Derry through defensive structures. I'm fed up with Armagh's style of play tho, so I'm not advocating it.
