The biggest issue I have with the GAA at the minute is the vast difference in how football & hurling is refereed.
Hurling basically lets it all go, all players expect this and get on with it
Football depends on the ref interpretation and there is a massive difference between some refs.
Plenty of the recent games (County finals, Ulster club, cuala tonight) have been good games because the referee let a lot go. No petty decisions and let the players get on with it. Another factor is that the games are of a good standard because the teams are of the same level - if the GAA would sort that out it would help rather than mass rule changes it may solve the issues.
The 1v1 at the throw in is laughable - changing it because of the jostling at the start of the game is suggested as a reason. Have they not watched hurling starts recently - the ball is thrown in amidst a wrestling match - which everyone accepts as part of the game and enjoys it.
Jim Gavin wasn't suggesting it or getting involved in any discussions over rule changes when his Dublin team were totally dominant.
There will be some hammerings in games now going forward and will only get worse.

Depth should be a lot better. Roughly  two good options per position and not counting any U20 call up from 2025 panel which might also happen.
Corner back and wing back and forward positions obviously very up for grabs.

No harm but Danny Fullerton is 10 times the forward Quinn & McShane are. Don't know why Burns is down as a number 12. Is him & Meyler not finished? And as for Cassidy, would he not be better off helping the 'Donaghmore in bloom' crowd.

Your argument is invalid on Fullerton (22 years of age), no harm. Mark Bradley was the only forward in Tyrone that had a good championship - Eoin McElhom too maybe. He kicked more in the championship against Dromore & Killyclogher (2 top sides) than Darragh Canavan did against Pomeroy & Clonoe (2 poor sides). During the league he hit 3-09 against Clonoe & roasted Michael McKernan vs Coalisland. Finished 2nd Top Scorer in the scoring charts & would have been 1st if Ardboe hadn't have fielded their minors on last day of league vs Dungannon with Paul Donaghy scoring a hat-trick of goals.

That's a strong list of 35 players detailed above and if all can stay fit and interested then surely that leaves Tyrone is a strong position for the season ahead.
However, Fullerton possibly deserves a chance, although admitted haven't seen much of him lately but he has regularly been at the top end of the scoring charts. Every other forward on those charts seems to have got an opportunity.
Carmen1932 - does he have the pace to cope with the potential new rules regards 3v3 inside half way?. Pace will be a vital component in the county game going forward if these new rules get passed which seems likely

The foul when seen again on tv just now was a very debatable card. Normally you could argue it was, but there were many many worse hits and tackles throughout the game which were not dealt with the same severity from McQuillan

In saying that, TK should have known he was in a knife edge - would he have made that rash tackle playing for Armagh?

Think Ryan Owens was a massive miss as well, probably would be an ideal man for picking up Canavan. McCarthy injury was a blow too of course.

McQuillan did not cost CE that game, would you all ever catch yourselves on. The fouls on Darragh were fouls. At one stage he was grabbed and swung around 360 and one of you was whinging about him diving. Too many CE names didn't show up. Ruairi Canavan was the best player on the pitch by a distance.

Don't think EC will have the legs for Kilcoo's running.

The decision not too black card for the penalty was a massive call mcquillan got wrong.

1. Deliberately pull down an opponent.
2. Deliberately trip an opponent with the hand(s), arm, leg or foot.
3. Deliberately body collide with an opponent after he has played the ball away or for the purpose
of taking him out of a movement of play.
4. Threaten or to use abusive or provocative language or gestures to an opponent or a teammate.
5. Remonstrate in an aggressive manner with a Match Official.

Go on then, which of these did McQuillan get wrong? Too many eejits banging on about rules they don't have the slightest clue about. Always the same with the square ball too. Someone was banging on about "a goalscoring opportunity" earlier FFS.

Barry will do very well with Ardboe. He's a top coach with good experience at the highest level.

Gavin is going into year two,paddy tally was assisting last year along with several Galbally club men and ex players,will be hoping to build on a very positive first year in the post.

I'm hearing Tommy mc Guigan and John mc conville are helping barry out with the ardboe seniors

'Several Galbally club men' - the games I seen them they had about 10 men inside the wire as part of management and that is a conservative number, all shouting and roaring and trying to have a say
Too many men if truth be told - the less the better can be the best way.

Apart from UUJ, who else has Dillon been successful with? I know he has coached Portglenone and Truagh but wasn't aware of many other teams that he has been coaching with
Certainly done well with UUJ for sure and will be interesting to see how he gets on down at the Lough shore

Technically you can't start until December 7th but I assume all counties are doing S&C and running in smaller groups so Tyrone are probably the same

Managers should not be getting paid in club football.

Fully agree, the paid manager and coach is the ruination of the game. You'll find that most of the teams playing negative football have outside management teams in place. The fear of losing and being put off the money train. Very hard to outlaw, if a rule was brought in that no outside managers allowed you'd get get some patsy to be named manager and real guy would still be getting paid off the record. Clubs need to put a stop to it themselves. One club I know paid out 2700 a month on management team 

For a complete management set up a cost of 2700 a month is probably below average, I would say. Season lasts 9 months, so 2700 x 9 = 24300.
That's not bad if you get a trainer and S&C coach included but honestly, I know plenty of clubs paying much higher than that for a full set up.
There are clubs in Tyrone and Derry paying a manager, a coach, a S&C coach, a goal keeper coach as one set up
