It is nice but have they kept the same home geansai and brought out a new away one for 2025??

Quote from: Hereiam on November 19, 2024, 10:38:58 PMLabour have looked at this through accounting glasses and have not allowed for the connection we have with the land. If HMRC came looking inheritance tax of me I would do time before I would sell one sq.ft of it to give it to them.
My father took over this ground from his father which was all covered in scrub and rushes. My father spent his 30's & 40's getting it into the shape it is in today and there is not a hope in hell I will be letting it go
People need to understand a lot of us in the beef & sheep sector work full time jobs as well and we pay our taxes like everyone else. We pay PAYEE, we pay our rates we keep the local economy going by buying local for the running of the farm. We hire contractors to cut our silage and pay them what they are owed.
Its bloody hard work and in my own case I have 4 young children and a wife to look after. You cant make someone farm it has to be in you to do it. I fatten 50 cattle a year and have 50 sheep lambing at the end of February and let me tell you I might as well have a couple of hundred with the work & time it takes. Why do I do it? I do it because it gives me a sense of purpose, when you see a field of new born lambs running about in spring time there is nothing like it. When you get all the silage in an all is ready for the winter its something you can say to yourself "that was a job well done".
I am a small farmer in Tyrone who enjoys farming and in all my years farming I can say that if I break even at the end of the financial year I am happy (there have been plenty of losses).
The small bit of ground that makes up our farm will never make me a living but I hope it will give the same rollercoaster ride it gives me to whichever of my kids decide to take it on and I can only do my bit for as long as I'm still breathing.

I'm not sure why Labour is doing this as the rich business men buying up land will not be affected by this as they have the best advisors helping them avoid the tax owed but the small man will pay.
They need to roll this back or there will be trouble, not so much over here because we are a divided community but England could be in trouble.

Rant over

You only pay tax on the value OVER £3m though...

It's a small bit like the yanks always voting against tax rises for the rich because some day they hope to be themselves!

Quote from: roadsidefox on November 19, 2024, 01:00:37 PMWe won't have any U20 player until after the Donegal Ulster SFC game. That rules out Forbes, Murray, Doherty etc. Let's hope they are all unavailable until they win an All Ireland.

By all accounts McGrogan and McCluskey will miss the majority of the league. I'm not sure McEvoy will make it to Oz, so let's plan with him. We could see Conor McGrogan get another run, along with Patrick McGurk.

For the league, we could be looking at a back 6 of:
Baker / McEvoy / C McGrogan
McGurk / Doherty / Gilmore

McKinless??

I hope Marty Bradley gets a decent run of games this year as well!

They'll be hoping they can beat Derry for the first time in 6 years!!

Think it's a little bit of pay back for some derry ones thinking they hit the big time with Mickey Harte even though plenty of tyrone posters said it wouldn't end well.

Would have been hard for tyrone to beat derry as they spent most of those 6 years outside division 1 ;)

We just forget about the last 3 years then?!

Would love to meet one of these Derry men who thought we hit the big time with Mickey... I wasn't one of them and I don't remember too many of them on here

Quote from: AustinPowers on November 11, 2024, 03:18:21 PMHere's a question.....

Where the feck  are you meant  to  see films now?

I've been meaning to see Banshees of Inisherin , as I was on Inishmore just  after they filmed it , and want to see some of the  places I was  at.  Over 2 years  later , still not seen it.

Are there  DVDs any more?

I'm not on  Netflix or  anything like that , nor  don't intend to be.

Will I have to contact Brendan Gleeson personally to  see if he has a copy?

Banshees is on Disney+...

I've heard that the dodgy box has basically every film you could want... from a friend obviously!

The only film I've not been able to find streaming anywhere is The Field but it's actually on YouTube!

Quote from: trileacman on November 11, 2024, 07:40:29 PMI'm a Liverpool fan and think this is the biggest storm in a teacup I've ever witnessed. Called Klopp a **** whilst clearly being drunk and/or on coke. I'd be fairly sure you wouldn't have to feed drink into any PL referee to get them to get them to slate the current crop of PL managers. The worst thing he had to say about Liverpool was that they were shit, hardly seems like a colossal burning grudge against the club.

As for the "calls" that cost Liverpool points they are marginal calls in my eyes (with the exception of VVD being hacked by that donkey Pickford). I've seen Liverpool benefit from plenty of handballs that weren't given, Trent has got away with them on more than one occasion. I'd be much more aggrieved with the referee at Tottenham last year who harshly sent off 2 Liverpool players.

Personally if he apologised and gets suspended for a bit I'd think it punishment enough for an act of stupidity. I'd hate to have everything that I've said or done whilst drunk recorded and played to the public, I'd be certain that I'd lose my job if that was the case and I'd imagine it's also true for the 90% plus of the people calling for this guys head.

100% right on this. The outrage online is bordering on maniacal... if Liverpool don't want refs to hate them then Klopp shouldn't have acted the ****.

Of course referees will have managers they like and dislike. If managers had any sense they'd be more sound to referees as being a p***k is never going to work.

Whole thing is sad really. From his comments to his mate releasing the video to him losing his job and the dumbass Liverpool fans reckoning he's cost them league titles!

Started Day of the Jackal. It's had a good start. Bit too slick and picturesque though for its own good but has promise.
