Laois / Leinster Senior Hurling Championship 2020

With the National Hurling League 2020 done and dusted, attention won't be long about turning to the 2020 Provincials.
Laois v Galway on May 9th at MW Hire O’Moore Park, Portlaoise.
Kilkenny v Laois on May 16th at UPMC Nowlan Park, Kilkenny.
Dublin v Laois on May 31st at Parnell Park, Dublin.
Laois v Wexford on June 6th or 7th at MW Hire O’Moore Park, Portlaoise.
On June 13th and 14th another round of games take place between our four opponents.
June 28th sees the Leinster Final take place in Croke Park.
Lets hope that the Covid-19 outbreak doesn't get any worse and compromise this year's hurling championship.

Laois / Why are we being turfed out of Leinster?

Anyone read this yet? The proposals are bizarre and gives the likes of Laois nothing to aim for. The whole fiasco of bringing Galway into Leinster means that Wexford were denied a Leinster title this year and denied also either Dublin or Offaly a final appearance.
In the short to medium term, the biggest achievement Laois could possibly muster would be a Leinster final appearance, so putting us into a pot with other teams outside of our province is insulting to say the least and gives our players little to aim for.
It's high time Munster was told to fuckoff with their stranglehold over the AI series. Winning a provincial should have no impact on progression to the All Ireland. Rewarding the provincial champions with an AI semi-final spot is long beyond it's sell by date, but the c***ts in Munster will not allow this to go.
We need to have the provincial championships run off SEPARATE from the AI series. Tell Munster and Leinster to have all their games run off by Bank Holiday June and then start an open draw for the AI series in July, giving clubs a month during high summer to finish leagues and start their respective championships.
These proposals at the link above are sickening and will kill hurling in the less than successful counties.

So, the draw has been made - however from the news reports that I have seen I am unsure of who faces who - whether or not the table topper gets Offaly or Wexford.

Tony Forrestial Under 14 Hurling Tournament full time: Dublin 3-07 to 1-04 Laois

Results so far as of 1pm. A few dismal results to be honest and calls into question the quality of training clubs and county are offering players.

The Kilkenny V Laois minor hurling match is fixed for Freshford on Sunday 13th April 2008 at 1.00pm. Any ideas on why the powers-that-be did not fix the game for Nowlan Park as a curtain-raiser for the NHL Semi Final meeting of Tipp and Kilkenny?
So much for promoting hurling in the weaker counties...
