Quote from: Armagh18 on December 08, 2024, 07:45:36 PMIt's the Sunday World what do you expect lol. Sensationalist headline based on nothing.

That is some take on it. Now in the bbc. Knew armagh players didn't have good reputations but this unbelievable.

All the news outlets have picked it up now. It will grow legs.

Quote from: gallsman on December 08, 2024, 09:33:25 AMAgain, no problem whatsoever with the Kerry divisional system and it giving players from non senior clubs to play senior.

But if they spend a couple of months playing senior championship in Kerry, and are then unleashed in the Munster Junior against the Clare junior champions, that strikes me as more than a touch unfair.

Is it unfair or should Clare or Cavan or whoever else not be doing the same thing.

Should we stop county players from playing aswell just because they spent half the year playing a higher grade of football with their respective counties.

Quote from: gallsman on December 08, 2024, 08:35:51 AMHow many Stacks players this year played senior championship for St. Brendan's? Another aspect of the unfairness of it all. There should be a rule that non-senior club players in Kerry who line out with their divisional side in the senior championship are ineligible for their clubs in the provincial championship. The Cliffords whaling on junior clubs left, right and centre a few years ago comes to mind.

Whatever about Stacks being intermediate I've absolutely no issue with players given the chance to play senior football.

Every player in every county should have the chance to play senior if good enough.

Then maybe we wouldn't have as many transfers.

Should be at least 12vsejior clubs in Kerry.

Quote from: SaffronSports on December 08, 2024, 12:15:55 AM16 senior clubs in Antrim, 8 in Kerry. Definitely doesn't add up.

Antrim would have alot bigger population than Kerry though 😛.

In all seriousness how many football and how many hurling clubs are in Antrim?

We've all seen the whatsapp messages I'm sure. Would want to be careful about saying anything here other than it's a very serious matter and hard to see how some members could stay involved.

Heard the rumours myself. Didn't believe them as I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere.

But didn't want to comment.

Quote from: Ciarrai_thuaidh on December 07, 2024, 10:52:59 PMGame today was a bit of a farce but the semi final v Kilshannig was a better indicator of form. Despite having a man sent off after 5 mins, Kilshannig weren't far off Stacks. And they are champions of the 3rd tier in Cork, not second.
Stacks are strong up to midfield but their forward line isn't stellar so there will be tests ahead I think.

If you told someone 15 years ago Stacks v Ballinderry would be an Intermediate game they'd say you were mental..

Don't forget Crossmolina on the other side. Won a senior All Ireland this century aswell.

Most stacked intermediate ever id say.

Quote from: SouthOfThe Bann on December 06, 2024, 02:36:14 PMIs St Patricks Academy a Down or Antrim Schools?

Why isnt there a Belfast Selection like there is with Derry City?

Are you for real?

The Academy have been in 5 finals since 2010 and you don't know where they are from?

Dungannon which is neither in Antrim or Down!

Apologies my mistake; when I was googling it it was coming up as Lisburn School. Too many St Pats Schools I get mixed up haha.

Why is there no Antrim School or selection surely this is a severe disadvantage to football in the county.

2 late goals. Magheracloone far better team on the day.

But fair play to the Arva men. Fairytale continues.

Austin Stacks comfortable winners against the Cork Champions today so the 'fairytale' will be coming to an end soon whether its the next day out or AI semi.

I think the team we should be questioning if that turns out to be the semi-final lineup is Austin stacks, who won 3 in a row club championships in Kerry from 2019-21!

Yes 3 former Senior All Ireland Club winners out of the 7 teams remaining.

No team that has won it before has won a senior All Ireland.
