How do we think it'll go this weekend?

Would love St Endas to cause an upset and for Ballycastle to do something v Dunloy.

I must say my favourite hurling championship in Antrim is the intermediate. Decent competitive games and most are entertaining!

That's great to hear that there's a hive of activity across all clubs in the city each week. Agree winning isn't everything also, that's true. Future sounds bright for GAA in the city then

100% Rome wasnt built in a day. Good to see plans in the pipeline. Must get a run out to a game in Cargin at somepoint to see it. Are moneyglass keeping the old pitch or whats happening there? 2 pitches in 2 locations like Loughgiel?

It seems mad, just a load of clubs within a small radius. How many clubs are actually in the city? I suppose we all know there's massive potential in the city for growing hurling. Would just love to see city teams rise again. Antrim needs it.

I know easier said than done, but amalgamating clubs in west belfast in particular could be an idea worth looking into. We want hurling to thrive in Belfast and stronger more competitive teams to come out of the city. 20 years ago since a belfast team (Rossa) won a county championship. crazy. Im sure theres great work being done in all clubs in belfast its just tapping into the population and getting folk participating.

I know Sambo won't have the answers to players leaving that particular club in that code but him or others of a similar elk have a bit of status and could do a club like All Saints which isn't a million miles from his door step the world of good. I suppose like most clubs its the underage set ups that are important and then you hope to retain the players as they get older. Baker doing well with their footballers, would be great to see them win the intermediate this year. Biggest town in Antrim outside of Belfast, loads has been done and football def on the up, hurling def needs a lift there. On the doorstep of the Glens, good feeder schools and plenty of hurling families in the club!

Rossa and St Pauls - historically what is the story there, 2 clubs literally beside one and other - would it not be better to amalgamate? Isnt there a club just down the road from St Johns also on the Whiterock Road? Is there too many clubs in Belfast? Excuse my ignorance, not from the city although played against many of the city teams through the years.

I could be wrong but I don't believe they have plans for a new club house - correct me if I'm wrong? It only opened in the 90s the clubhouse and the Hugomount suite only opened inside it a few years ago.. think it had new signage added and external walls painted in the last year or 2. Good changing rooms from memory and a tidy set up. I see from Saffron Gael they hosted the reserve cup final between Cushendall and Loughgiel during the week. Could def host a semi final for sure. Personally I think one of the best grounds in the county and ample parking and you've the floodlights. Yeah at underage they won an u14 all ireland feile maybe 10 years ago? Think Ryan McGarry was captain then (Obv hes went to Dunloy along with the brotehrs). Has always been stronger in the football and probably be in Div1 for the foreseeable and underage getting stronger in all 4 codes! To be fair theyve always had decent hurlers although but yeah retaining these players has always been a problem - not sure what can be done there. Baker doing ok with the footballers. Sambo went to St Enndas a few years ago?? maybe he could try his hand closer to home and do something with All Saints - sure only 20mins away and hes got ballymena connections.

The whole casement thing is frustrating. Should never have closed it in 2013. Controversial - Do Antrim need a new county ground in a different location? Where would that be? The casement saga just seems never ending... could honestly see it go for housing at somepoint lol

From what i hear the ballymena club plans include a larger gym for players including a community fitness area, a ball wall and a juvenile 3g playing surface. They currently have 3 pitches, foodlights, club house with hall, bar etc and 2 sizeable car parks. Set in rural location so plenty more room to expand. Yeah Ahoghill and Whitehill have great set ups. I wonder are playing numbers going up in these rural clubs? They seem to be! Not so sure about the city clubs and numbers increasing across the board there.. anyone know?

Some great club groups and facilities in the county that have improved greatly in last number of years... most do seem to be in ruralish settings of the county.

Ballymena have developed their grounds the past few years and I see they've further ambitious plans in the pipeline.

Seems hard for the city clubs to expand their grounds etc when landlocked by housing.

Ballymena surely favourites to win this year's intermediate championship after today's win.

What way did Glenavy and All Saints finish up this evening?

Is Micky McShane coaching or managing anyone at the min?

The under 20s should have went on and played in the All Ireland B last year that just seemed stupid not to allow them more matches. Good chance they would have won it also. What was the reasoning behind not playing in that competition?
