Clark will have to lose this for McIlroy to win...just can't make a putt when it counts

Yes got a bad feeling about this. Clark was level for 6,7,8,9 and could easily have been about +4 for those holes. Rory meanwhile holes nothing and that 3 putt at 8 was criminal

screenexile

He needs something to fall but he's been pretty flawless tee to Green should only be a matter of time before he stitches one and gets level.

You might be waiting a while for him to hole one ffs

dec

Drops a shot on a par 5. That could be it

Goodnight. Lays up and makes a mess of it gets a lifeline and then still makes a mess of it :o

Clark guaranteed birdie...will need an absolute brain fart of a hole not to win this now

That 3 putt on 8 was the killer for Rory. A very similar feel to last year's open. Rory played well but he would have bitten your arm off if you said a 69 would be enough. Very disappointing. Clark got away with murder on 8and 9

gawa316

Never got close on any of the par 3/4's and he fooked up the par 5'...will be a tough one to take

Saffrongael

Very fine margins and the course was a bit tougher over the weekend but McIlroy was -8 after two rounds and -1 over the weekend
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Milltown Row2

He'd a chance to put pressure on Clark, didn't and Clark done enough to get his head sorted after his balls up, think his caddie was very hands on and a lot of support given from what I seen (for ten holes)
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Mikhail Prokhorov

Clark tried to gag but no one there to take advantage

Played the last 2 brilliantly when the pressure was on

Mcilroy won't be winning any more majors, esp when he can't putt and has no caddie, no help on yardage, reading putts, talking through shots etc

lads on here are delusional  ;D

By that analysis, he would never come second either. Rory was 1 under for the weekend, but so was Clark.

Having said all that, I think that was Rory's best chance for a while as that course suited his style.

In fairness you have a point about the caddy. Harry seems like a good bloke but ffs get  the best caddie money can bt. Yer man JP wasn't great either. Don't understand going the extra mile in the gym , with diet etc etc and then have your mate carry the clubs

Disagree completely.

Everyone has a different need from a caddy. Some need caddies to read putt:, gauge wind, recall stock yardages. Some need a man servant. Some just want a little company for the 5+ hours out there.

Rory falls into the latter group. He's an instinctive player, and doesn't need the confused messaging that a structured caddy would bring.
