Wonder if those 'mature' trees would have been planted in recent times as part of course landscaping ..... might explain why their root system wasn't able to handle the wind loading?

I thought it was weird the way that tree fell.  Something odd about it.

Well no. Poulter, McDowell, Westwood don't get in any this year unless they go through qualifying rounds for the US and British Opens.
Bubba and Sergio are only at the Masters as a past winner, likewise Stenson as a past winner of the Open.
