I know there's thousands of cars going up and down each day but is this a possibilty and an agreement made to pay back so much every year.
No way.

Armagh semis

Clan na Gael v Madden
Cross v Clann Eireann

Both games could go either way, no team has really stood out and all bar the Clans have already tasted defeat in the championship this season.

Clans are looking to reach their second final in a row after a heavy defeat last year to Cross, whereas Madden haven't been in a final in 25+ years. Both sides probably drew the team they wanted and both will be confident of progressing, it's a toss of a coin and wouldn't rule out the draw.

The other match is probably the real final. Clann Eireann have an embarrassment of riches with the talent they have at their disposal but have only one championship to show for it. Despite all what their players have went through this year and how ordinary they've looked at times, Cross always have that ability to click into gear so you can't ever rule them out. That said, if they play the way they did in the second half last day out, Clann Eireann may not be as forgiving.

I'd have near fancied Clann Eireann to make a dent in Ulster this year only for the Armagh winners having to face the Derry champions in first round.

Clann Éireann basically a super-club at this stage.

SFC & IFC semi finalists
MFC champions
Probably win the U21 Championship

LGFA SFC finalists
LGFA JFC finalists

Quote from: general_lee on September 27, 2024, 11:32:33 AMClans, Harps, Silverbridge should all be fielding Junior teams. I'd say the additional logistics and cost is off-putting rather than actual numbers. Silverbridge have 51 named in their championship panel!
51 named but you know yourself between injuries/college/commitment issues etc that mightn't translate to 2 panels of 25 week in week out. Fielding a junior team takes a lot more than fielding a reserve team.

Would it be better if there was 7 or 8 strong seconds teams to have a separate league for them rather than genuine junior clubs getting hammered by seconds teams?

Seconds teams should be encouraged to enter the all county league system as it gives more lads meaningful football. But I've always argued that they shouldn't be able to enter the club championships as it distorts them somewhat. It's unfair on a smaller club who would love a good run in the junior championship taking on a team like Clann Eireann seconds last year, who had lads with intermediate and senior championship medals over the previous decade. There should be a meaningful reserve championship played alongside the other 3 championships (maybe have a junior B as well).

Just have 4/5 divisions on a home/away basis and then have the championship separate to that with no link.
Down have a similar system this year and you have the division 4 winners in the intermediate semi final and the division 3 winners in the senior semi final. There's no reason to link the league and championship if you have a proper relegation play off system between championships.
I'd be a big advocate of Junior B championship in Armagh - and possibly even 13-aside Junior B league.

It's a good point about the likes of Clann Eireann having players that drop down to play junior. Ultimately though they're a large club capable of entering a second strong senior side and they've won a JFC and are close to an IFC final. They shouldn't be penalised for this.

Banning IIs teams isn't going to stop any half decent junior team absolutely hammering the likes of Killean or Mullabrack, but introducing a Junior B competition might give smaller clubs a chance of competing for some silverware.

Quote from: SouthOfThe Bann on September 27, 2024, 09:43:19 AMSemi Finals in Junior and Intermediate in Cavan this Weekend;

Denn v Butlersbridge
Arva v Cuchuallins

Knockbride v Redhills
Kill v Belturbet

Knockbride and Belturbet two favourites inn junior but both teams have stuttered at times in this championship.

Two Intermediate Semi Finals are very tight but should be wins for Bridge and Arva.

Division 3 Denn in intermediate semi final for second year in a row; but should be relegated to junior going by the logic of some of our friends further north.

Depends on the setup of course. In Armagh, the 3rd "division" would be 2A and thus intermediate.

Just a straight line 1, 2, and 3 in Cavan.

Are all reserve teams integrated into the system in Armagh or is it just the stronger ones like Clann Eireann and Cross?
No, for the past 20+ years it's been only really been Cross and Killeavy who have entered IIs teams. Dromintee, Pearse Og, Cullyhanna & Clann Eireann all dabbled at different times in the last decade.

Clann Eireann re-entered last year and won the JFC. St Peter's entered a IIs team this year and won promotion from Junior B. It's really down to numbers more than anything, growing disillusionment with Reserve football the last couple of years can't have helped.

As Armagh18 alludes to, there appears to be confusion over whether IIs teams are completely separate entities or whether there is an allowance for some cross-over between Senior & Junior teams.

Quote from: general_lee on September 26, 2024, 10:37:02 PMRiddle me this, a pal of mine reckons he's ok to drive. Basically SORN'd a car while out of the country. He didn't receive any refund which apparently you get sent which covers whatever tax was left over. MOT has ran out while he was away, has a date next week. He came back during the week and has been driving about.

Car has to be either  taxed or SORN'd.

I take it he hasn't  taxed car since he returned? If he hasn't, it is still SORN'd. So , he can't drive it.
That's exactly what I thought. He thinks he's still taxed, despite the car clearly showing up as SORN'd!

You have to question whether it's in the public interest to name this poor f**ker. Imagine being wrongly accused of rape (by an escort) going through all the stress that entails before being acquitted and then seeing your name in the news!

Not sure if they'd even want to, they're an average league team that bring lads in come championship time. Finished 5th or 6th in 2b this year and were in 3b league the year before

What does this mean?
Lads coming down from first team from the league, minors coming in after their season finishes up. Belleek ran away with the 2b league this year and hammered ce twice. Clann Eireann then beat Belleek in the championship. Would be fairly sure they'd a different team out.

They were in 3b as it was their first year. Tell us how many came down from the first team after the league
There are fellas I'm nearly sure played for the seniors during the league and are named in the junior panel.

The squads are all on the Armagh website, and there looks to be a bit of a crossover of half a dozen or so. What exactly is the criteria? I take it they don't have to name two standalone panels then?
