Trump: I don't think I've ever said this before. So we do these rallies. They're massive rallies. Everybody loves, everybody stays till the end. By the way, you know, when she said that, well, your rallies people leave. Honestly, nobody does. And if I saw them leaving, I'd say, and ladies and gentlemen make America great again and I'd get the hell out, ok? Because I don't want people leaving. But I do have to say so I give these long sometimes very complex sentences and paragraphs but they all come together. I do it a lot. I do it with raising cane. That story. I do it with the story on the catapults on the aircraft carriers. I do it with a lot of different stories. When I mentioned Doctor Hannibal Lecter. I'm using that as an example of people that are coming in from Silence of the Lambs. I use it. They say it's terrible. So they say so I'll give this long complex area for instance that I talked about a lot of different territory... You know, for a town hall, there's a lot of people but the fake news likes to say, the fake news likes to say, oh, he was rambling. No, no, that's not rambling. That's genius. When you can connect the dots. Now, now, Sarah, if you couldn't connect the dots, you got a problem. But every dot was connected and many stories were told in that little paragraph

Harris 5/6
Trump 23/20

Bit of momentum for the Dems now, making progress in PA.

Which bookmakers are those odds?

With Paddy Powers

Harris 1/5
Trump 7/2

And before the debate they had Trump as slight favourtie. Needless to say team Trump will be avoiding another debate between now and November voting.

Thats the odds for the most votes which might not determine the actual election winner. PP still has Harris 4/5 and Trump 11/10

Are you sure? I'm following Oddschecker which is showing the odds of who the winner will be.

Quote from: AustinPowers on September 17, 2024, 05:31:12 PMTrue, the big events  weren't in the US, but  they  should have been threw out of Eurovision at least  ;)

I remember  a while after the Afghanistan invasion thinking,  if this was the IRA who attacked  London, it would be like the British army bombing the shit out of Ireland, from Malin to Mizen,  to take out a  few dozen men, who could have been  on  the Skelligs or Tory island, or anywhere in the world. The Brits were dirty filthy hoors  in Ireland, but the Afghanistan invasion made  the  Brits look like pussycats in comparison.

But, as I said earlier, we are being  played everyday

Yeah but the Irish look like the English and even speak the same language. Even drive on the same side of the road. Not so easy to de-humanise them.

Quote from: theskull1 on September 17, 2024, 02:00:52 PMI assume people know that capitalism can exist in different forms.

This is extreme crony capitalism. Wars and natural resources attainment needed to stop the fractional reserve banking ponzi bubble from popping. Governments have allowed the elites to run the game for several decades and the debt bubble is completely out of control.

Fractional reserve lending is many things, but it's not a Ponzi scheme.

Quote from: theskull1 on September 16, 2024, 01:26:01 PMWars, stock market crashes, recessions, lockdowns all pump and dump money making opportunities for elites and the political class is following the real power centers in every western country.

Peace and stability doesn't bring in the same returns for the big financiers in the west.
Everyone surely sees the every increasing debt bondage populations are subjected to (especially the younger generation.... student loans, car insurance, rent, nursery costs etc) whilst the very top 1% are creaming it.
Its all by design to keep the low and shrinking middle class enslaved... politicians are just public facing useful idiots IMO.

Sadly, there's a lot of truth in that.

Student debt is the start of the slippy slope where control is gained and maintained of the masses.

Agree 100% with all the above.

I do though have a sense that the ultra-commoditisation of housing and now utilities, will break western political structures sooner rather than later. The 1% need the middle classes more than the middle classes need the 1%. And working 50 hours a week just to pay rent is not middle class.

Well maybe not break. Reset and start again more likely.

Is all of this by some nefarious, elite, design though, or is it simply the way capitalism, based on competition and self interest, evolves?

Everyone wants their house to maintain and increase in value. Everyone wants cheap "stuff" made, usually, halfway around the world. Lots of people don't want poor people and all the social issues that accompany them moving into their neighbourhood.

It's the way capitalism evolves. It trends towards monopoly. It's a good system, but it occasionally needs a little reset to work in the public interest.

What's the betting Trump doesn't feel like doing what the Secret Service tells him to do? I'll bet he's too focused on getting another round of Golf in.

I'm starting to see why the US didn't win any gold medals in Olympic shooting. Seems like the quantity of gun owners in the States isn't matched by the quality. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Quote from: GTP on September 13, 2024, 04:09:27 PMIf you intended to bring down the buildings using controlled explosions why not simply drive a large truck into the underground car park with a bomb and use it as a decoy. Covering up one form of demolition by using a completely different method i.e. flying a plane into the building seems overly complex.

Because they already tried something similar eight years before and it didn't work.

1993 World Trade Center bombing

The tinfoil hat crowd would simply point to the 1993 bombings and say it couldn't have worked.

Quote from: OakLeaf on August 20, 2024, 11:56:23 AMI have a couple of friends who suffer and they say that running (or exercise in general) can really help. I'm not a sufferer but I know that running helps me destress. Plenty of clubs all across the country, as well as park runs every Saturday morning (which are good social events). Sorry if this has been raised before. I haven't read back through the whole thread.

Running or cycling is very helpful to me. A bit of cardio gets the endorphins going and promotes a feeling of wellbeing.
