Congrats to the winners especially Ruthless Rossies on their 2nd Superbowl. Great competition as always. Thanks again to Oakleaf lad for organising.

Well the wheels came off for me over the weekend! Oakleaflad was due one against me I think. He hadn't even set his lineup...hope all ok with him. Good luck to the finalists. A super league like every year.

Apologies I've been quite ill recently. It keeps telling me the league is full

Hope you're on the road to recovery....sorry to hear you've been ill.

I'm ok with whatever you decide. Just make sure we can draft Wednesday and not miss week 1. It should be fine.

Will she? Ineligible for her athletic scholarship obvs.

She has one more year of her degree left and it appears she will have the same coach so I presume she's going to at least finish her degree. She won't be training all day every day. I saw an article where it said she needed to factor in college fees into whatever financial package she'd get to go professional.

Serious question. Would that hairstyle not have cost her time???

Maybe if it came down to 1000ths of a second.  Adeleke looked tired in the semi and she was slower again in the final.  I think her semi time would have got her the bronze.  Apparently the US college season is brutal in terms of the amount of racing they do. The runner Adeleke beat into 2nd in the NCAA final didn't make it out of her heat.  You could see at 250m her head was already rolling from side to side.  I think she was just knackered.  But she has huge potential and is now a genuine medal contender in future Olympics and World Champs.

Will Adeleke have to go back to America again?

That's a tough enough gig and only 20 years old.  Pity she couldn't get that level of training in Ireland but probably not available.

Great potential and hopefully she stays injury free.

She's turned pro so can't compete in the NCAA but will continue to train in Texas with the same coaches. Relatively few of the big meets she'll be targeting in future are in the US. Only one Diamond League event each year.

She will still be studying but obviously not running for Texas A&M.

Hello joemass  are you going to be a man about this?

I hope the money  was paid up.   Looking that poster history Joe Mass has form for calling out people who don't agree with his opinion .

This post isn't as clever as you think it is!

Very sorry about Motty - feels like part of my childhood is gone. I was allowed to stay up to watch MOTD from 7 / 8 years of age and at that point the classic combination was Jimmy Hill as Presenter / pundit, with two games shown, commentated on by John Motson / Barry Davies. Great times.

Personal favourite would be the 'Quality goal from a quality player' line for Tony Currie's goal for Sheffield United against West Ham and this commentary of Ronnie Radford's wonder goal.

A man whose absence from the commentary box, made the heart grow fonder.

R.I.P.

Well said. I think his passion and sincerity shone through during his career.....it never waned and it added to what you were seeing. For me by far the best soccer commentator I've heard.

Have to say the last 24-48 hours have been utterly depressing. While getting rid of leeches like the Glazers is essential the next priority is getting owners who just don't get in the way. And you certainly don't want outright scum in charge. Alleged United supporters preferring Qatar over Radcliffe can do one in my opinion. Unfortunately saw some online polls indicating a strong majority favouring this. They're not United supporters in my mind (realise this is controversial but stand over it and won't be replying). Radcliffe may not be perfect but he's not someone who stands over slave labour and murder. Qatar taking over United would be an absolute disaster and disgrace. Surely the "fit and proper persons" regulation should be too high a bar for a country like Qatar?

United don't need oil money to get back to the very top. They just need owners who aren't bleeding the club dry while being totally incompetent.

Terribly sad news. He was one of the good guys for sure. Condolences to his family and all who knew him.

People need to understand how the GAA disciplinary system works. The media are consistently bad in this regard.

Also - read the rule and try to understand it. If this gets pushed the logical penalty is a small fine (read the rule before you come at me). There are options for penalties presented in the rule from severe (award/forfeiture) to moderate (replay) to light (fine). In the range of possible breaches of this rule ask yourself truthfully - what category does it fall into? About 10 seconds of playing time where the ball doesn't come near the play?

And if Glen appeal and a replay is ordered Kilmacud will lawyer up and fire this back at them. Do the rules state what sort of infractions is severe/moderate and light?

To be fair that would be impractical as it would be impossible to list all circumstances as they're almost infinite. It just says "depending on circumstances". I think most reasonable people taking the emotion out of it would have to conclude the Mullin situation is very much at the lower end of things. The Charlie Redmond one back in 95 was worse for example but I'd probably say on the lower end too.

If Mullin was on for a few seconds extra just after half time would we be having this conversation?

The one game I thought they were hard done by was a game where it was near over, draw I think at the time, where Small committed a fairly obvious free, in scoring distance, and the ref ignored it.

Sadly too many refs got free holidays off the back of Dublin wins.

Can you name them and where they went to?

Not much of break for lads!

Break? If you give lads a break they'll find another sport to play! People love playing games.
