General discussion / PPI

Just wondering...

Anyone here try to see had they a claim on PPI?

Heard about a local girl getting 7 grand when she went looking a claim. She tried her luck and wasn't expecting anything. Think she had been paying some sort of insurance on her monthly credit card bill when it wasn't required.

General discussion / Whatever became of.....
February 19, 2014, 07:58:07 AM
Just thinking an idea for a new thread.

Ever think of someone who had been in the news/ spotlight and then disappeared of the radar. You remember them about 2 years later and wonder what ever became of them and what they are doing now.

Someone mentioned Bernard McHugh (ITV Blind Date) recently and it just got me wondering. Whatever became of him?

A man has been telling me that there are new regulations for car trailers in the north. He reckons a lot of trailers will soon be illegal and that trailers will have to go through a MOT type test. I paid  £600 for one last year and would hate to think I couldn't take it on the road..

Can anyone shed any light on this?

General discussion / legal aid solicitors
June 14, 2011, 09:54:17 PM
I see that 18 solicitors have agreed to work with David Ford and accept the new legal aid payments.
Half of them are based in Belfast and the rest scattered accross the north.

Anyone know the names of any of them?

General discussion / DODGY DIESEL
December 08, 2010, 04:58:41 PM
Got the motor filled up with diesel the other day. Since then its been spluttering . Cant drive it anymore. Mechanic blames the fuel and says it ll need to be drained out. I rang the station to see if they have had any other complaints about their diesel recently. " Oh No, there's nowt wrong with our diesel" was the reply.

What if it turns out to be dodgy diesel? Have I any comeback on this? Anyone any experience of this?

General discussion / Free ESPN for 1 month (apparently)
December 23, 2009, 10:41:33 AM
Got an email from Sky last week offering free ESPN for 1 month then after that you decide whether to keep it on or not. I registered and it told me I would be switched on in 48 hours .

Still waiting to be swithched on after 4 days and cant get through to find out whats going on.

(Small print....you have to ring them after 1 month to tell them that you DON'T want to continue otherwise they ll start lifting cash vfrom your bank)

Anyone else get this?

General discussion / Connecting to a Wireless Card
March 19, 2009, 08:17:48 PM
My neighbours signed up to broadband and yours truly was asked to connect their Old Windows  2000 laptop to it.

I bought a wireless card and installed it onto the computer and was able to see that the card itself could recognise the hub. However, when I put the BT Broadband CD  into the computer to install it, the computer could not connect with the hub at all.

I was thinking that maybe the settings on my laptop needs to be adjusted in some way so that the laptop can connect to the hub.

Anyone out there offer any help? My neighbours are retired and really looking forward to using the internet.
