Way to early to panic guys...I'd rather wait and get the right signings than rush into it and buy crap. BR seems to be calling the shots so lets wait and see what happens. If come 3 weeks time and things haven't improved much then it's time to panic but the transfer window is only open two weeks.
I know we've known from Feb that Joe was retiring but lets wait and see what comes in...I just hope we don't c**k this up but I really feel this time we'll get the right players in

Quote from: JimStynes on July 02, 2024, 09:50:06 PMBrilliant stage today. Pogacar a different level. Was waiting and waiting for the attack. He timed it perfectly.

He's some pup that POG, taking full advantage of everyone else's lack of fitness and miles in the legs. UAE are stronger this year too which is a big help to POG. Jumbo Visma were stronger last year and totally raped POG but the roles have reversed this year. The big crash a few months ago has worked in his favour too.

GAA Discussion / Armagh v Kerry
July 01, 2024, 09:29:34 AM
Well guys, already the crap talk has started that Armagh are going to play the same as Derry and a lot of people are dismissing Armagh and no point in us turning up. Not sure of his name now but read last night somewhere that some commentator said Kerry v Donegal or Galway will be a good final. I'm kinda glad that we are being dismissed but a wee bit pissed off too that we don't get the respect we deserve for being there.

Anyway on the game itself...Should be good, Armagh will be defensive but will offer a lot more going forward than Derry and most other teams Kerry have played this year. We will need to keep them close and not let them get away from us as it'll open up and we will get it tight. I'm hopeful but long enough in the tooth to know Kerry will be the favourites and we will have to play to our max to beat them but we can do it.

Quote from: Rossfan on June 24, 2024, 10:14:52 AMNo point us turning up at all it seems.

Ohh, here's the soft talk now. The big Yellow bus is delighted with the draw. 50/50 game

Quote from: 5times5times on June 24, 2024, 09:40:33 AMHard to know for Armagh fans who they would have preferred.
Louth have a much better defence and pack the defence, which Armagh tend to struggle against.
Roscommon have a much better attack, which means game will me more open?

Louth will likely be Sunday.

Armagh Rosc & Kerry Derry Sat... But which game goes 2nd? Kerry & Derry have a poor support, so should they go 1st?
Donegal Louth & Dublin Galway Sun

I agree, If Armagh are on first and lose then the fans will empty out and leave the second game a damp squib regarding atmosphere.

There usually is a shock somewhere...If Roscommon were to beat Armagh that would not be a shock. Derry beating Kerry would not be a shock either but the other two would be...Knowing Armagh's history of draws they could do an extra time job assuming there is no replays?.

Armagh v Roscommon -  Armagh by 2pts
Dublin v Galway -  Dublin by 4pts
Donegal v Louth - Donegal by 5pts
Kerry v Derry -  Kerry by 2pts

How freaky is this...I was speaking to Davy Burke in Armagh on Saturday afternoon and after all the craic and football talk he said to me "We'll see you (Armagh v Rossies) next weekend.

They will put Armagh v Rossies and Derry v Kerry on the Sat and then have the Dublin v Galway and Louth v Donegal on the Sunday...Just my guess BTW.

Did they still have the lace in the ball?

Right, I've been thinking about this for a long time and would like your honest opinions. I know there is quite a few soccer men on here too so the topic is "Warm-ups".
GAA warm-up are so long and intense, I've been part of them and you're bollixed after the warm-up. I get the theory that as soon as that size 5 is thrown in you're ready to do battle and you have your 2nd wind etc etc.
Soccer warm-ups are a lot less frantic and seem to be half and three quarter pace with stretching and basically limbering up.
I know there is so much data out there for both sides so why the two complete different warm-ups?. I know they're different sports and different types of running and more impact etc etc but do we GAA players do too excessive warm-ups?. I think we do

Quote from: galwayman on June 17, 2024, 12:05:46 PMThe free to put us one up absolutely wasn't a free 100%.
Neither was the one that put Armagh one up in injury time in Carrick last year either though.
That one was equally soft.
Having to play next week isn't even the main issue for Galway now - it's the fact that we have to play one of Dublin, Kerry or Donegal next up.
They will be sick because they basically threw it away

For sure...Galway had 2 men on there yesterday not fully fit either. Them fit and D Comer playing we'd have lost heavily.

TBH i thought Hurson was a decent Ref and I'm not blaming him on the result yesterday as Armagh were rotten but If he had to be asked what he seen to give that free too Galway in injury time I would like to hear his reason why. I know he's only human and can make mistakes like the players do but when i seen the replay last night it made it worse.

Thought KMcG could and should have made a few changes earlier, our bench is strong so why did he not empty it. I don't know.

My take on it is Galway will be kicking themselves and should have won that game by 5-6pts. Armagh were off it all over the Park, I thought Ben Crealey was poor after having a stormer last game. He got dispossessed twice in a minute when the game was in the melting pot as he was too slow. Rian scored some lovely points but skinned twice for Galway scores, it's actually hard to find positives from the match yesterday only we didn't throw the towel in and battled for an undeserved draw. The Derry game has shown us we're not as good as we thought and TBH I was worried that the players would believe the hype and think they've made it, the truth is we're a decent side and that's it.

That free for Galway in injury time where S Walsh scored to put them 1 up is as bad a free as i've seen and haven't seen too many call it out only some Armagh fans. Can you imagine if that happens in the next game and that ended your season, did commentators call it out??. That S Hurson man wasn't that kind to Armagh yesterday.
