£20 f**king quid and missed game against Antrim in Belfast.

Place is bonkers

Correct...I very rarely miss an Armagh game and have written this game off already, I won't even try for a ticket and after everything that's went on and said I'm happy to watch it on TV. If it's not the TV then the 37 seconds on the Sunday Game will have to do...Sin e

If any of you seen his interview on Friday (I think it was) where he claimed he knew nothing about the GAA and Casement application...You just knew looking at his face he was lying thru his cake hole, the interviewer even knew he was lying but no one has the testicular fortitude to pull them on it.

Now who would have thought Mr Lyons would be objecting to anything Irish...

Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader Gavin Robinson has warned his party has put a "marker" down at Stormont to block Sinn Féin spending money on "pet projects".

It follows the decision by Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins to approve £150,000 for Irish-language signage at Belfast's new Grand Central Station.

A row over the Irish language around the executive table is nothing new but this one has been simmering for some time.

Sinn Féin has accused the DUP of blocking the executive from resolving a funding crisis for cross-border Irish language services, which are facing a £650,000 cut.

The finger of blame is being pointed at DUP Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly for refusing to allow the matter to reach the executive.

So this latest row over Irish-language signage at Belfast Central Station has added another pressure point.

In an email to his supporters over the weekend, the DUP leader said the signage decision was now being challenged around the executive table.

It is understood DUP Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has posed a series of questions about the move in a letter to the infrastructure minister.

Last week Little-Pengelly criticised the decision, claiming "much of the £150,000 will be used to rip out new signs" to "drive forward a political agenda" by the infrastructure minister.

She also questioned spending the money at a time when the executive financially was in a "very difficult place".

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said her decision reflected the "thriving Irish language community"

But in announcing the extra funding, Kimmins said it was a "hugely positive development" which reflected the "thriving Irish language community".

She also confirmed her decision had passed an equality screening exercise which showed it would have "a minor positive impact".

It may come down to whether or not the decision by the infrastructure minister to approve funding for the signs should have been subject to wider executive approval.

Robinson believes it should.

"This is clearly a controversial matter and our ministers will use their position at the executive table to not only get to the bottom of how the decision was made but put a marker down that public money cannot be used to further Sinn Féin's pet project," the DUP leader said.

Whether the decision can be taken by a single minister depends on whether it is considered "controversial" and/or cross-cutting, in other words whether it falls under the purview of multiple departments.

History tell us it may be a judge and not a minister who decides, if we reach that point.

51...Unreal where the years have went. Don't know when I first went on here but it was prob about 20-25 years ago. When I was young and the Mucksavage thread was at it's peak I couldn't get any work done for laughing after reading all the lies but they were good honest lies

Quote from: GraceO'Malley on March 28, 2025, 07:00:21 AMFemale perspective here on the Turkey hair, I know for men losing their hair is a big deal but actually I find it attractive and sexy (lucky for my husband!). There's something about Turkey hair that just doesn't look natural, it looks like brushed out pubic hair or something. On the other hand if it makes you happy go for it - how we feel about our appearance impacts our mental health too.
Replica football jerseys should only ever be worn to a match of said team.
Exercise gear(especially tracksuits) should only be worn for exercise purposes or around the house.
It's hard for men, there's not a lot of choice out there when it comes to clothes or for some it can be very bewildering too.

Didn't realise my wife was posting on here!

Hair was thinning mid 20's, didn't give it a second thought, week before I was married I had my last visit to the barbers, a really neat short cut and there after I cut my own hair, she was horrified because the wedding and all but nah, it had to go, never looked back.

Young ones today have to deal with social media and that must be the the main factor for the Turkey teeth/hair boom. the pressure to look better, not that I'm on dating sites the must common one now is looking for a man 6 foot minimum!

Men are more and more having to live up to the social demands than woman have had to deal with for hundred of years more, we don't seem to be developing confident people who are happy in their own skiN.

That said rep tops need to be used for going to the game be it club or county, and soccer tops need to be put in the bin if you are over 18 ;)

I'd be single nowadays, 5'6, bald and no shinny teeth! be great  ;D  be a millionaire now

Right, i'm confused. Can I wear my Armagh top to the games or not?.
I've just got a mental picture of a wee fat round bald man now...lol

Quote from: illdecide on March 27, 2025, 09:23:51 AMThe biggest problem most of us have no matter how many times we look in the mirror we don't see what the younger ones see when they look at us. Our brains still tell us that we're younger and when we see someone our age and we look at them and think "Feck they've had a hard paper round" in reality that's how we look too.
I too still wear trackies/skinnies but only for lying about the house or calling down to see the Mammy but like Lurganblue said the Polo shirt is slowly replacing the replica football top now. To flip it the other way a lot of guys my age or dead or a total mess so i'm reasonably happy with my current condition.
I once said to Jimmy Smyth..."Hey Jimmy, I'm in good shape" and his reply back was..."Yeah, round is a shape". Jimmy is never lost for a quick witty reply.

Rep football tops! Were never a thing, christ I cringe when I see anyone wearing them outside of training, or at least if they are going to a game of said top!

Right, Armagh top in the bin and new Polo shirt in the basket. BTW does the opinion differ if you're a Townie or a Culchie. I'd imagine if you're from the Country or Tyrone and have the jeans and tan brown boots you could get away with a Replica top no baw but frowned upon if you're maybe a City boy. Asking for a friend...

As I said, pure cringe for a man of a certain age walking around town with a rep top of any type, tell your mate that  ;)

Quote from: bennydorano on December 21, 2024, 11:02:57 AMJust hit 6,000m (9,656km) for the year, more than previous couple of years (getting hit by cars will impede u ok).

Heading to Gran Canaria mid-January for 7th or 8th winter trip to the various Canary islands. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. There's talk in our club of Majorca312 in 2026 (denied in 2020 by Covid). Will likely give that another try.

Have booked Majora for 6th April for 5 nights, haven't been before cycling but a few of the lads i'm going with have so they will know the craic (4 of us so far).
Have also booked a week in Alps (Briancon) for end of June to cycle the Alp d'Huez, Telegraph, Galibier etc etc. Just back on the bike there after a few months off (another hip replacement) and it was tough going. Winter riding is a total bollix.
Let me know how you get on in Gran Canaria...
As u may have guessed from my Strava it did not got well! Was ill the week before we went, after my first very moderate spin on the 1st day there (did have booze night b4 tbf, but whatever bug i had came back with a vengeance) I was in bed for a few days, ate nothing, a truely horrible few days. Recovered a bit to attempt a couple of moderate spins later in the week, but had to abort a climby spin. Being sick on a holiday is not a nice experience, hopefully my 1st & last.

Sorry Benny never seen your reply. That's brutal altogether, I've been away a lot and all you hope for is good weather and never even contemplate sickness into the equation. Couldn't think of anything worse lying in your bed sick abroad...

Quote from: bennydorano on March 22, 2025, 03:52:21 PMMilan-San Remo was a clinker!

Went to watch it and it wasn't on Eurosport ffs.

Was on BT Sport (TNT Sports).
Everyone was talking about this race and rightly so, was one of the best finishes to a race that I can remember (especially the one day spring classics), the last 30k with the two small climbs were brilliant. POG wanted steeper and longer climbs to blow MVDP away but the gradients were just not there and MVDP had the power to stick to POG's back wheel. Filippo Ganna may well have had the power for MVDP but was caught napping on the sprint and probably put too much into catching them two late on...Top, top race.

Quote from: bennydorano on March 17, 2025, 12:48:55 PMWhat was the story with the Green Brigade, did the cops have them stopped outside well away from the stadium?

Yeah, the cops held over 200 of them down the road and held them there for 4 hours. 'Police were completely over the top' 'something stinks' 'heavy handed abuse of power' Celtic fans suspicious of London Road kettling.
Not 100% sure on this but I believe they also held Rangers "Union Bears" too but not as many
