We bet NUIG today by 4 pts 12 to 8 to set up the big January showdown v the Great Unwashed of Mayowestros.
Was a good competitive game which will have been of some use to management unlike last week's cakewalk.
Interesting to see Fergal and Liam directing the show from the sideline while Kevin stayed outside the wire altogether.

Ah sure lookit our real focus is on Monaghan in three week's time.
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

No different to how McStay operated with Brigids.  McHale was always the enforcer on the line.

So, the winner of Roscommon/Mayo will be in the final. If it's a draw, Roscommon have the advantage on points difference.

If today's attendance in Healy Park is anything to go by this one could be all ticket. Sligo IT - or any college - unlikely to play in front of a crowd like that again this year.

The loser will be the winner here! What ever team lose will begin to cull the heard and concentrate on the League. The winner will have to keep two squads going for a few more weeks. In the Rossies case they need to concentrate 100% on the league after Sunday. They don't need the distraction of a FBD Final in the middle of the League. Winning the FBD gig was done last year. The League and a Championship push are the real fry and especially trying to get some points early on the board in the league and having something to play for right up to the last round of games. Last year Roscommon put a lot into the FBD and the League (plus the under 21's). This meant they were out on their legs come championship.

Ros will be all guns blazing like last year in castlebar , fookin Mayo men into the net and what have ya . Comfortable win for Ross ,we will just have to hope we can get back to near a full deck for Easter Sunday game or we will never hear the end of it if Ross beat us twice in the one year.
Walk-in down mchale rd , sun out, summers day , game day . That's all .

Mayo have a few missing but finished today with a half back line of Boyle, Keegan and Vaughan. Higgins again played in hb line. McLoughlin played another full game. But ye can see why he has to be there as well.
Finding it difficult to put up easy scores and a lot of good possession and moves butchered. Hope they continue with some of the new lads for Ros. game. Crowe did a lot of good grafting in second half and Keith Ruttledge has done very well.

I think FBD final will be played on the 24th a week before the NFL starts.
