Well we did the job today once we decided to tear into the Galway'sporous defence.
In the first half with the wind we arsed around and also stood watching Galway's hand passing over and back for minutes at a time.
Mind you we let them have plenty of free shots in the second and that lad who got the Galway's goal should have been stopped long before hand.
Good to win another cupeen.
Let's hope we'll soon be winning. Real cups.
PS - a big black mark to the Pretty Council for the crap programme costing€3.
Also it had the players' names in bloody Bearla only.
Tut tut tut.

Better than those programs that only have them in Irish. It's like trying to transcribe Sanskrit reading the opposition's line-up.

Who's the new Connacht Council prez? Burkey is done, to be fair to him he was pretty genuine in his speech after the match.

The sorts of teams we do be playing only get on tv if they batter the shite out of a linesman or something like that. Can't wait for some ould lad to attempt to translate Shehroz Akram's name into gaelige.

How far from a full strength Ros team would ye say that was yesterday lads?
Just curious.
Our full back line problems look to be no closer to a resolution.
It is far and away the weakest area of our squad and has been for a long time.

Cregg and Conor Daly only came on as a subs at the end, no Donie, Higgins, Healy, Keenan. at least five starters there if we were naming a full-strength team. All should definitely be involved for the rematch bar Higgins who will be touch and go.

Donal Ward would be involved too were he available, he had needed surgery after last season finished. David O'Gara has taken a year out too and would always have been a feature on the team for the last five or six years. Colin Compton and Michael Finneran injured too. Croans making the AI final at Inter is robbing us of a few panel members too.

Our forward line come Summer will be 2 Murtaghs 2 Smiths and Senan K plus 1 other.Midfield is a problem and neither of yesterday's starting pair will be there. The FB line yesterday will likely be our Summer one while HBL is a problem... Yet 2 of yesterday's likely to start

Cregg is more likely to start than Donie Smith. Lots of competition at HF. Only Enda Smith could be assured of a spot in that line right now. Likewise if John keeps playing Senan like a work-horse (how many times do we need to see Senan tracking back to his HB line and leaving the FF line with no target-man?) he might as well play Cregg as a false 14 again because he's much more suited to that role. Senan can be devastating if he's left up nearer the goalmouth more often.

I was under the impression that the full back line was left heavily exposed by the half back line yesterday, just what I'd read from elsewhere.

From that team yesterday there's probably on Bradshaw, O'Curraoin & Walsh that are nailed on to start in the Championship. Need to get off to a good start on Sunday, win the home games and we'll be pushing for promotion although that may depend on how many games the Corofin lads and Conroy will miss.

C Murtagh,D Smith will have to continue their good pre-season form during the NFL to hold down a championship starting spot. C Shine will be midfield starter come the summer he will improve with a more suitable partner. We all found out in 2012 against Galway that I Kilbride isn't inter county midfielder & yesterday confirmed it. Full back is very much or most settled line but Davy Murray could be giving a run out during the league & Seanie Mac moved into the half back line.

Flynn,Forde who came on yesterday will be championship starters as will Conroy,Hanley,Comer when available for selection.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

I would say Sice and Lundy are certainties from Corofin. Ronan Steede and Ian Burke are possibles. Farragher maybe. A few of the defenders are possibles as well like McGrath and Silke. Hard to know yet with a new manager. Not sure about Daithi Burke. There is talk he is going to concentrate on the hurling this year after Corofin are done.

Apart from those it's waiting on Conroy, Hanley, Comer, Moore, Duane, Adrian and Paul Varley. I'm probably missing somebody I can't think of.
