Jases ye rhubarbs are awful thick.
Obv never heard of Hyde, Wilde, Matt Molloy, carty family, John Wynne, Patsy Hanly, Annalu of Loch Ce etc ad infinitum and so forth. :D

What about the great Dillons of Ballaghaderreen. Mayo don't like to mention them for some reason.

Rossfan

Were they singers, writers, musicians or what Syfeen?
I know one of them improved the lot of the Ballagh folk.. :)
Davy's given us a dream to cling to

I heard of Hyde and Matt Molloy. The others ....??

Cant imagine what the Wildian connection is unless he was banging some young fella from Ros.

Oscar's dad William Wilde was from Kilkeevin, a townland near Castlerea. Roscomon born and bred.

Galway must be taking things more seriously this year with Corofin lads playing FBD?

Should the Ros lads be getting worried?

Exactly. Mayo will be going to Galway without COC as well. Quite possible that the stupid Limerick gig will ruin 2 championships for us yet.

But Roscommon were the ones looking more likely to benefit from our inevitable demise; now it looks like Galway smell blood and are getting serious after several silly years from them.

Ah now Ross I'd go easy on Lar, for auld fella his mind is off track with his deep rooted weird obsession/fantasy with sheep and he's even dreaming about them now.  ;D
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Bit early yet to tell if we are getting serious or not but I hope Walsh can manage to install a bit of a harder edge to the team than Mulholland could. His Sligo team were quite feisty. For a few years anyway.

Impossible to tell from the FBD anyway as there are so many different lads being used. Most of whom probably won't be there later in the year.

Don't forget John McGahern who firmly nailed his Rossie colours in his autobiography despite the Irish intelligentsia trying to pass him off as a Leitrim man for years. And Turlough O'Carolan who grew up and composed his masterpieces in Ros and buried in Kilronan. What has Mayo ever given us? Louis Walsh and Enda Kenny. Aw Jaysus Christ Lord preserve us from all harm.

No coastline = shit county. Sin e.

Give me the shores of Lough Ree or Lough Key or the banks of the dark mutinous Shannon waves than the Mayo coast sponsored by Shell. What's the use of a coastline if ye don't respect it.

This 'discussion' is pretty stupid, it is along the idiot county border lines and thus ignores any logic or reason, but the last couple of posts outdo the rest by a mile.

Shell was imposed on Mayo by the State.

The massive stock of empty houses along the 'dark mutinous Shannon' were, however, self-imposed. Roscommon has the country's second highest number of ghost estates. That is an incredible static for a small county. This explains why it is also one of the cheapest places to buy a house. http://www.independent.ie/life/home-garden/homes/rock-bottom-the-five-cheapest-places-to-buy-in-ireland-30277952.html Your planners shouldn't be let run a bingo night.

'What is a coastline of ye don't respect it' is some high horse to climb, even in the absurd world of sports fans.
