Some things are guaranteed in sport. Armagh behaving like thugs and Mayo losing All Ireland finals.

The listing on Setlist FM is a funny read. Saying "first time played since 1996", etc even though they have sang the songs for years in their solo careers. As far as I can see most songs on the setlist have been played on solo tours. Noel playing the guitar and singing backing vocals must be what people are paying to see.

O'Donoghue stayed on the pitch to sign autographs even after the defeat. The same can't be said for some of the Derry players recently. It is easy to sign autographs when you are winning.

It is ironic that they display the union flag on their windows given that it has foreign origins too. The flag would have originated in England. The United Kingdom existed between England and Scotland before Ireland was added to it. I was reading comments on Facebook from Ballymena people saying they will help anyone out if they need any union flags for their windows.

Human beings are tribal. We are instinctively a lot more accommodating when one of our own steps out of line, than we are when it's one of the "others".

Unfortunately there is a lack of tribal loyalty amongst men in society. They will sell eachother out the first chance they get to impress a female. For example many of the fights outside nightclubs every weekend are started by men trying to show off and compete for the females attention. You could call it "dick measuring". Another example is how men often ditch their friends when they find a partner.

Females on the other hand are more likely to have loyalty to their own gender. This is shown by the strength of the feminist movement. They will stick up for eachother if they see any wrong doing.

This all comes down to our animal instincts, men having to compete with eachother in order to breed.

NORM from Cheers.

Last year I bought a signed and personalised photo from George Wendt. I ordered it through the convention company he worked with. Another I bought was the actress from 'Cujo', aka the mother from ET.

I recall there used to be UVF graffiti in the toilets when I worked in Ballymena. I also remember going to the toilet in The Range and UVF writing in there too. Many of the immigrants aren't good people but they aren't any worse than the locals.

I heard a Derry fan shout to the referee. "There are 32 counties in Ireland not 26" implying that he was favouring the southern team. He must not have realised the referee was from Fermanagh.

This one cud backfire on them tho..
Comedian Tim McGarry tweeted tonite: "Breaking - Kneecap members to join UVF in order to terror charges" .. he's not wrong.

It's clear what they're at

Yes it is.

Now correct me if I'm wrong here , but didn't the Ireland ladies team  sing "ooh aah up the ra" in the changing rooms in Hampden park ?

Last time I checked , Scotland was in the UK. If the British government are to be  consistent, why weren't those girls arrested for "terror offences"?

Aren't Hamas and  the  IRA deemed "terrorist organisations" by the British government?

Anyway......

And were fined by FIFA. Another reason why I avoid watching soccer. The problem with that is they had no proof of what version of the IRA they were singing about. The IRA of the 1920's played an important part in the formation of their country so it shouldn't be illegal to sing about them.

Were the various drunken dickheads Club members then?
Yes people can't seem to get their head around that GAA club members can be rowdy drunks too. They just want to blame the band wagon fan. By the way it is possible to be both a club member and a band wagon fan. Having a club membership doesn't necessarily mean you go to games regularly.

You can't help but have huge respect.I don't think at any stage did I think Armagh are the team to win this though. Perfect day and no real 2 point threat. Maybe a returning Rian will help that later in the year.

Just a note on the "supporters" around me. The Donegal bucks with their repeated English soccer style chants about a former Armagh player and his ongoing legal case, similar style chants about another returned player and his alleged lifestyle choices, repeated shouts of "orange bastids", and "bring back the RUC" for some reason. The Armagh bucks in front of me barely looked in the direction of the pitch and instead it was just an opportunity for a social gathering and a chat with mates. Wasted tickets imo.

I had a crowd of Lurgan fans behind me on the hill. Good singing when Soupy came on but someone from the same group was throwing bottles of coke with the top off. I can pm you a photo of said group if you so desire. (Not sure which club they were from)

They won't be from any club, i can guarantee you that.

Where do these louts get tickets? There are plenty of regular people who had trouble getting tickets. a lot of people at the semi final would not have been able to get a ticket.

They get tickets because they are most likely club members like the rest of you. Club members can be thugs too contrary to belief here.

Yeah would agree with that. Few Donegal "fans" deserved slaps the way they were going on although I'll be the first to admit Armagh have plenty of assholes going to games too.

Armagh people don't have much room to complain about comments when some of them make "Londonderry" jibes at games.

I don't understand why you would think that? Club players are involved in brawls on a weekly basis all around Ireland yet you don't seem to think they are capable of misbehaving on a terrace? At the recent Ulster finals I went to the gangs of youth were actually wearing club gear which throws your point up in the air.

I was looking through the Wikipedia records and it seems the last time Derry didn't win a league or championship game in a season was 1965/66. Although you could make the point that losing Division 1 games is still better than seasons playing in lower divisions.
